Honestly one of those days that I'm kind of embarrassed to be a Penguins fan.
Some of the takes coming from fans and media over the last 24 hours...yikes.
My favorite thing is that idiot Rob Rossi wrote the dumbest piece ever about how Ovechkin should be suspended which was widely ridiculed by pretty much every hockey writer or blogger that's worth a shit. He even made an ass out of himself pressing Trotz about it in the post game presser.
And...he was practically praised as a hero from fans and media in this city, even from people who hate him.
I mean, when there's an obvious "hot take/click bait" piece from someone generally regarded as a total joke, and you find that piece making all kinds of sense to you, don't you sort of realize that you've strayed way too far from any sort of objectivity?

I mean, it's not like we don't have super slo-mo of the play at our disposal. Yet some Pens fans/media, even those not provoked by Rossi, insist that Ovechkin made a blatant slash to Crosby's head like Marty McSorley. Ovechkin obviously committed a slash that went uncalled. But it was to Sid's shoulder, which cased his stick to bounce of his own shoulder and then bounce back and hit Crosby on the back of the head. That's completely obvious from replay, and there's no sensible argument that it should've resulted in anything but a two minute minor for slashing.
So, what would Ovechkin be suspended for? Knocking someone off balance?
Totally independent from Rossi, a horde of fans are convinced that the Caps basically had a bounty on Sid, and their proof is that the Caps dressed 7 D. That way, once presumes, they would be completely fine losing a defenseman after taking out Crosby. Obviously losing their best defenseman 5 minutes into game 3 of series they're trailing 0-2 was all part of a master plan. I assume they used Niskanen, not Orpik or Alzner, just to not make it THAT obvious?

Must win game for Washington, so probably 7-2 Pens. Don't know if I've ever felt less secure being up 3-1. Caps have out shot the Pens by 46 in the Pens' three wins, Crosby probably will be out longer, and I never feel completely confident in Fleury (although that says more about me than him this playoffs). It'll be a sigh of relief if it happens to be sure. |

Never go to HFBoards during playoff time. Ref whining about every... single... game. Apparently the refs really want to help Anaheim and they're super biased against the league's new superstar for some reason.
I mean, isn't the simpler explanation "the refs aren't that good" rather than "there's a conspiracy"? A penalty against my team? Warranted or no, it must be because the refs are out to get us!

Unbelievable comeback by Ottawa, can only dare hope they oust the Rangers.
Really wanted Edmonton to win out but looks like Anaheim's going forward to the CF.

It'll end in 6 just like last year. Caps will probably get complacent with this win and get humbled in game 6. No way do they win 3 in a row against this Penguins team.
