The ones you can visit repeatedly. Of course, it's not easy to narrow down to just 10.
The Godfather (1972) : The garden scene between Vito and Michael (this whole list could just be scenes from the first two Godfather films) King Kong (1933) - Our title character atop the Empire State Building The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - Yoda's explanation of The Force The Wild Bunch (1969) - The final walk Jaws (1975) - Quint's USS Indianapolis monologue The Godfather: Part II (1974) - Michael returns from Cuba to an empty home. He doesn't even tell his wife he is back. Such sadness. Casino (1995) - Just like dominos, everyone falls. Scorsese at his most operatic and brutal. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - The Dawn of Man sequence. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) - The truck chase. Love when Indy throws the Nazi out through the windshield and promptly runs him over. There Will Be Blood (2007) - The Oil well fire.

SPOILERS FOR MOVIES AHEAD. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.Road to Perdition (2002)...Scene 1) The scene where Tom Hanks kills Paul Newman in the rain at night with the tommy gun. that's a top notch example of cinematography/score blended very well with a strong moment in the movie to and the icing-on-the-cake is that Newman was basically silent waiting for Hanks to take out his bodyguards and said 'I'm glad it was you' before Hanks lights him up basically. Scene 2) The scene at the end where Tom Hanks gets shot in the back by Jude Law and Law proceeds to take his picture. that's pretty much as good as scenes get. Lord of War (2005)...to list a couple on this ill go with... Scene 1) The scene later into the movie where Nicolas Cage takes his brother(Jared Leto) on one last deal and Leto finds out that the weapons they are about to sell are going to be used to kill innocent people and talks to Cage about it a bit etc and not long after that while Cage is working on the deal Leto ends up getting into some of the product they are selling and chucks a couple of grenades to blow up the weapons etc in some futile attempt to stop what is about to happen and while he blows up one of the two trucks with the weapons in them and Nicolas Cage see's him doing it and yells, 'No vit!' (sounds like 'veet' ; basically short for the characters name which is Vitaly) and then as that happens one of the guys who they were selling the weapons to opens fire killing Jared Leto and then you can just see that took it's toll on Nicolas Cage's character and proceeds to sell the other half to them and then has that general voice over with the process playing out like how Jared Leto's character said it would and has a part in their that says, 'they say evils prevails when good men fail to act, but what they ought to say is that evil prevails' (or some words very close to that effect) etc. just a solid scene that connects with me. and not long after that general scene completes you go to... Scene 2) The general ending where Ethan Hawke's character finally caught Nicolas Cage's character and then Cage proceeds to tell Hawke why he will ultimately be let go even though it looks like he's done and going to prison. basically this general ending scene and you can see Cage character is pretty much dead inside as he pretty much lost everything (parents disowned him/wife+kids left/dead brother) etc. NOTE: ill also say the intro to this movie (Lord of War (2005)) is well done with it following the production of the bullet all the way through til it's used. I am sure I could list some more scenes but that's good enough for now. NOTE: those are two movies out of the nine total movies I gave a 10/10. ck100Thumbs Up for the Amy Adams praise ; very few can challenge her.

Some favorite scenes from favorite movies
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - The three way shootout at Sad Hill. Spellbinding, even if I know every second. Double Indemnity - When Walter's car can't start after the murder. The Bridge on the River Kwai - I can't single one scene out. The Hustler - Eddie describing what it's like to shoot pool. I can relate. Godfather II - The murder of Fanucci. Maybe my favorite scene of any movie. Fanucci strutting through the festival while Vito, the Angel of Death stalks from above. The music is perfect. Everything is perfect. The Artist - George seeing is reflection lined up with the tuxedo in the pawn shop window. Tells how far he's fallen without words (duh) The Searchers - "Let's go home Debbie" The Treasure of the Sierra Madre - Howard discovering the gold. Bogart and Tim Holt whining while Walter Huston calmly runs the dust through his fingers. La Roue - Sisif trying to intentionally detail the train with Norma on it Doctor Zhivago - The deserters turning the replacement soldiers on the road. Citizen Kane - When Getty leaves Kane at Susan's apartment. I love how the scene morphs into the newspaper front page. The Wild Bunch - "Let's go"

TheGoodMan19 Agreed. one of the stronger scenes in movies in general. p.s. one of only nine movies I gave a 10/10. Yep! ; that scene at the picnic, right? that was one of the more stand out/powerful moments of the movie ; it's the passion that character has towards something that really connects as the way Newman delivers it makes it convincing to where you really believe him. I can't think of many (if any(?)) movies that deliver in this specific area this well. that's THE role ill remember Paul Newman for to as he was born to play that character. the sequel (The Color of Money (1986)) is underrated in general and underrated Scorsese (it's my #1 Scorsese movie). p.s. The Hustler (1961) is within my Top 26 movies (and The Color of Money (1986) is within my Top 56 movies). in fact, The Hustler is the oldest movie I praise to a high degree.

Off the top of my head
The Godfather - The dinner scene with Michael and Sollozo. I love that Michael's anger is throwing it a bit off the rails as well as the speaking in Italian. Children of Men - My favorite scene is night/dawn escape from the compound although the best scene is the ghetto escape. The Incredibles - Mr. Incredibles fight with the first robot Spider Man 2 - Spidey's fight with Doc Ock. One of the few times I watch especial effects and go "wow" Jurassic Park - The T-Rex intro Return of the Jedi - Assault on the Death Star Avatar - The final battle although the destruction of their tree was pretty distressful. Matrix - The rescue of Morpheus Two Towe...This is too action heavy and great movies have more than one amazing scene. I'll have to think on it some more.

Yes. I hate An American Werewolf in London. It is the worst movie I have ever seen, and that idiotic music completely ruins the transformation scene.

Yes, it is probably the worst. It is hard to decide between AWiL and Avenging Angelo.

The Wild Bunch - "Let's go."
Raiders of the Lost Ark - The desert chase scene.
Annie Hall - The lobster scene. The way Alvy tries to recreate a little magic moment he had with Annie, with another woman, is priceless beyond words. So many of us have been there.
Dead Poets Society - That final scene where fearful and inhibited Todd stands on his desk to show Mr. Keating that he'd had an impact on his life, gives me chills every time I watch it.
All the President's Men - The scene in my avatar. Woodward and Bernstein are so paranoid about being bugged by surveillance that they crank up the classical music and type messages back and forth on a typewriter.
Empire of the Sun - When Jim is on the roof of the building and watches the American fighter jet, that he so idolizes and worships, fly by him in slow motion.
Straw Dogs (1971) - The climactic home invasion scene is one of the most intense movie scenes I've ever seen.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? - When Martha keeps riding George, and the tension keep building and building until finally climaxing when George violently smashes the glass container.
What's Up, Doc? - The hilarious bicycle and car chase scene at the end.
The Godfather: Part II - 2 scenes. 1) The towel on De Niro's gun catching fire and him running around the rooftops of the city dropping pieces of the gun down pipes. 2) The argument between Michael and Kay culminating in Kay dropping a bombshell revelation on Michael.
The Boys in the Band (1970) - The telephone party game. Intense, revealing, emotionally draining.

Empire of the Sun - When Jim is on the roof of the building and watches the American fighter jet, that he so idolizes and worships, fly by him in slow motion. This is one of my favorites, too. Straw Dogs (1971) - The climactic home invasion scene is one of the most intense movie scenes I've ever seen.I have to see this movie, I just watched the remake with Marsden/Bosworth. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? - When Martha keeps riding George, and the tension keep building and building until finally climaxing when George violently smashes the glass container. This is a very strong scene, I second this.
