CAN you like me eat a meal or a snack without having to stop and drink water or something else at the same time? Most people take a bite or some bites and then have to take a sip or more of their drink. They CAN'T eat their entire meal non-stop without having to stop to drink. I CAN. I usually do have one sip of my drink before I start to eat and then finish the rest of the drink after I've eaten.

Are these "most people" HAVING to stop to take a DRINK OR do they just ENJOY having a drink WHILE they eat their MEAL ? Only TIME I HAVE to stop to take a DRINK is when something IS ULTRA-DRY or UBER-Spicey and needs to be WASHED DOWN (so to SpEaK !) Otherwise it's just "I feel like taking a drink now" time.

It depends on what I am eating...
If it is something like soup... No, I don't need to drink anything with it. If it is something dry like a sandwich or rice... I'll take a sip, every few bites to help wash it down.
If what I am eating is (spicy or hot), or not... I may take a drink to cool my food or take the spiciness away.
I always have some kind of a liquid in a glass, just in case... But, I don't have to wash down every single bite of everything I eat.

I personally don't care if I drink while having a meal.

I would be able to if I had to (assuming nothing was too hot/spicy or went down the wrong way). I prefer to drink as I'm eating though. More enjoyable to me personally that way.

Me too. If I eat something spicy, then I must have water nearby.

I have heard a couple of nutrition experts say that drinking a beverage with a meal inhibits digestion. The reasoning is that saliva is an important digestive aid and should not be diluted. They offer the usual recommendation that one should drink at least eight glasses of water a day but, they add, only between meals. But to answer the OQ, I often have a cocktail with an evening meal. I drink water throughout the day.

Not only can I, I don't drink at all while eating. Before and after only. My friend observed this about me. It's almost like I have different swallowing mechanism for food.
I hate when a beer comes and then the food right after, because the beer is going to sit there and get warm.

I have absolutely no desire to. I can force it, I suppose. And nothing is spicy enough to drive me to take a drink. I prefer most foods dry. No ketchup, mustard, mayo, sauce, dressing. I'll eat peanut butter right out of the jar. Toast as is - no butter.

When I was a kid, I somehow developed the habit of eating everything first, then drinking whatever I had to drink, and it bugged me on TV when I saw people drinking before they ate, I had it in my head that that was wrong.
In theory, I could eat without drinking, but I don't if I have a choice.

Me too. If I eat something spicy, then I must have water nearby. Dairy products can soothe the burning tongue. Most adults would not drink milk with a meal but you can always run to the fridge for it if your mouth is on fire. In fact, Indian restaurants usually serve a condiment/side dish called raita which is plain yogurt with cucumber and usually mint. It eases the pain of eating curry.

I can, but don't want to. Not only do I drink while I eat, but I ensure that my portions of main dish vs. side dish(es) are consumed at the same proportion throughout the meal.

Funny, I generally eat 1 food at a time. If I get a burger and fries at a restaurant, the only reason I take a bite out of the burger is so that when they come around and say "how is everything?" I will have an answer. If it's fast food, I eat every french fry first.
