Marvin got on the bad side of women in general for being a jerk when, after living with a woman for six years (she even changed her name to his and had two abortions at his wishes), kicked her out with nothing. She sued for the community property rights of spouses. This resulted in the famous “palimony” judgment. She was awarded something in the neighborhood of six figures but not half of everything he earned while they were together. The money award was later invalidated by the State Supreme Court on technical grounds but the precedent for unmarried couples who live together but break up to sue one another remains to this day.
