I assumed it had something to do with Tom Mankiewicz having been writer on those James Bond films but not sure if he was involved with that-as I know Donner said he found the scenes too hokey--so it must have been Lester and the new writers? They did various voice alterations with Terence Stamp and Sarah Douglas--in some cases they lowered their voices-in the case of Douglas some of her lines were dubbed by the woman who turns into a robot in Superman 3. "You-what kind of a creature are you?" That is dubbed. But in the cut scene when the boy is killed and she says "a boy who will never become a man" that is her normal voice.
