Jesus H. Christ, not another Super Bowl thread.
Moderators, can you please do something about this?

Soccer is popular because it's cheap to play. It costs a ball.

Shows what happens when you don't have an overarching thread for a game doesn't it. From the person who gives us 17 threads a week about a League Two club. A recently promoted League Two club. Maybe I'll spend the summer regaling the board in the exploits of the Jupiter Hammerheads, Stockton Ports or some other Class A minor league team.

Because I would be the only one who gives a shit. Also, I seem to remember the NFL poster staying to one single thread for all the regular season games. The college basketball posters stick to one College basketball thread. Next week, there will be separate threads for each CL match. "Basel-Man City", "Juve-Spurs".

World Cup Final pulls in over 1 billion. Just saying😉 This is only impressive to me in that I'm surprised that all the third world countries that participate even have TVs. Isn't it like groups of 50 of you huddled around the lone village 13 inch black and white Zenith?

World Cup Final pulls in over 1 billion. Just saying😉 The world plays in the World Cup. There are over 7 billion people in the world; only 1 billion watch it. So 1 out of every 7 people watch it. The United States have the only teams that play in the Super Bowl. There are about 325 million people in the United States; 114 million people watched it. So 1 out of every 3 people in the country watch it. The Super Bowl is more popular in the United States than the World Cup is for the world.

Ratings differential is really not that surprising. Soccer is the biggest sport in the world. Every nation plays it. And technically speaking, I'd say it's a better sport than American football. But there's nothing like a last minute drive for a winning touchdown in football. you just don't get that kind of thrill from soccer. In fact, you're lucky if you see more than 2 goals scored in a game.

Therefore your worldwide audience is just 114 million. Sorry.

What did you put in your "supper bowl" tonight? Rice and beans??? Come on man.... upgrade your meal.

Football is actually entertaining though as opposed to 90 minutes of boredom and effeminate men crying over a bruise.
