Super Bowl losers don't go back the next year. Who are you, Buffalo?

How can these predictions be made even before the draft and trades and other team building by other teams been done? Oh I get it. It's because the Patriots are cheaters in a crummy division that have no real contenders. That's why.

The Pats will be even better next year IMO, they will get Edelman back and they will improve their defense, they are definitely above everyone else in the AFC.

I think they'll go through a year of (for them) transition with both coordinators leaving, resulting in -gasp- NO first round bye.

Super Bowl losers don't go back the next year. Who are you, Buffalo? The Pats are done. Losing the Super Bowl has such a negative effect on a team that no team has made the Super Bowl after losing the Super Bowl the previous season since the 1993 Bills and no team has won the Super Bowl after losing the Super Bowl the previous season since the 1972 undefeated Dolphins. Even Belicheat and the Shady One couldn't make it back to the Super Bowl the season after their Super Bowl losses to the Giants. So with McDaniels and Praticia both leaving and Malcolm Butler most likely leaving along, the Pats aren't going back to the Super Bowl next season.

Just because those cheating shits have been to two SBs in a row does not mean they will make it to a third. Way, way too early to make this call when there are so many factors between now and the start of the season.

Who are your picks to get the 1st round byes in the AFC? Tentatively (the draft and free agency changes everything) I like the Chargers and Jaguars. I don’t see the Jaguars getting it because they play in such a tough division, the Texans will be very good with Watson healthy, the Titans are solid and the Colts will get Luck back. And while I like the Chargers and think they should’ve made the playoffs this season, I’m unsure about them getting a first round bye. I think they will win the AFC West and a first round bye is a possibility, but I’m not sure. I just don’t see anyone unseating the Pats for the 1 seed in 2018, they are clearly above every other AFC team and I think they will improve in the offseason, and it helps that they play 6 of their games against the Jets, Bills and Dolphins.

Do you think it changes anything for the Bills if they were to land Cousins? I'm not saying they'd unseat the Pats or anything but... make the playoffs again? How about Tannehill coming back for Miami? I know he's not great, but surely he'll do better than Cutler did. And the Jets could also get Cousins or draft a top QB prospect. Will the division still be awful?

Will the division still be awful? If Cousins signs with the Bills, then yeah they are definitely playoff contenders, but they are nowhere near the Pats. Tannehill’s return will help the Fins, but they have a ton of holes elsewhere : the O-Line is complete shit, Drake is the only RB, the LB unit is thin and the secondary needs help. It’s unlikely they will be a playoff team next year. The Jets likely still have a couple of years before they become a decent team, even if they do draft a good franchise QB, they are in rebuilding mode. So yeah the division is rather weak and the Pats will win it once again easily.
