I have a vague recollection of having been at a Red Barn back when I was a kid, but not sure. Speaking of being a kid, I LOVED this place: Lum's Restaurant (1956-1982)The reason I loved it so much was because we didn't have them here (Milwaukee area), thus it became a VERY special treat on those few occasions we were able to go there, mostly on family trips to Florida, back in the day. Good times, good times..... SAVE FERRIS

Been to a Red Barn. Used to go there often back in my undergrad days. The Rockwellโs Restaurant people must be Evil Dead fans (โCome and get someโ). A favorite of mine (at least for six weeks) was when I spent time in Indianapolis in the military and frequently ate at a:

Of the ones shown, with the appropriate, corresponding logos, I have eaten at a Red Barn, a few decades ago. As I recall, it was a prototype of what you see in the food courtyards of today's malls. Ethnic cuisines, and food styles, were available from various "kitchens," and there was a common eating area.
Black Bear Inn, has the same logo as the Black Bear Diners on the west coast. And, the INN, was the original site. I think it was somewhere around Mt. Shasta. There are several of them, now. It's very much like a "Denny's" ... kind of an any-port-in-a-storm, when you're on a long road trip.
