Not sure how much of Cables backstory they will go into with his lineage and virus but it sure is cool to finally see him in live action.

I love how we sudden;y have all of these Cable fans. Nathan Summers was one of the worst creations to come out of one of the most creatively bankrupt eras in Marvel's publication history but hey, enjoy your Cable.

But he did end up partnering with Deadpool for a long time. I wonder if those comics were better. I haven’t read them.

Writer's saw he was a dead-end character who was caught in a predestination paradox so they turned him into the butt of Deadpool's jokes.

They were good if you like comedy that has a far lower lowest common denominator than the MCU is constantly accused of having.

Cable was one of my favorite characters as a kid. Was actually pretty disappointed with the casting of Brolin. But I'm willing to forgo judgement and give him a chance, hope it will turn out right. I also preferred him before he became DP's partner.

I also preferred him before he became DP's partner. On that, we'll have to disagree. Cable was a part of that whole big guns and shoulder pads thing that consumed Marvel artists for a hot minute back in the ninties. There are only so many variations on a pissed-off, middle-aged white guy with a glowing eye that you can draw before it becomes silly. Leifeld, Larson, and Nacienza were desperate to create their version of Wolverine. They though characters like "Shatterstar" were going to be the next universally loved and best selling character. Despite creating one character per minute for years, they never even came close to the mark and Cable is no exception (as evidenced by his current status as second fiddle to a fart-joke-cracking wise guy). As long as Deadpool stays in his lane with the whole genre satire thing, I really couldn't give a fuck about this franchise.

While I don't care too strongly about the movie, I did love the in-jokes about Justice League and Avengers: Infinity War.

Meh, I'm really thinking this sequel isn't going to really come close to how great and fun the original Deadpool was for me. I've never cared for Cable as a character so I'm not exactly fan boy'ing over him being in the film. Idk, I just haven't really gotten excited by any of the trailers I've seen for this film.
Does anybody know who the villain is in this?

Does anybody know who the villain is in this? I think it's Jack Kesy as Black Tom Cassidy.
