I dunno how ANYONE- critic, DC fan, average viewer, etc., could give the show anything less than 8/10 stars. I'd certainly give it 9.5/10 - and I missed the pilot, so I've been guessing a few of the details as it goes along, and I've gotten various friends and family members addicted to the show by having them watch the first ten minutes of a single episode before they are HOOKED. This 100% has to be a joke post.

I am sorry if there was some sort of confusion.

Well that is the only explanation to your brain dead post. Your confusion is the only explanation, yes. The show is downright bad. Sure, I have been watching it. I have a thing for super hero shows and cheese to turn my brain off, but this is too much. The writing and acting are laughable. You said you couldn't see anyone giving this show less than an 8/10. I laugh because I cannot imagine someone giving it an 8/10 or higher. It definitely doesn't deserve it in the slightest. By giving this show a 9.5/10 as you did, you are saying this show is near perfect. Go watch Breaking Bad, The Wire, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, The Shield, etc. etc. etc. Any of those shows make this clown show look like a complete joke.

Dude, we clearly have different ideas of what kind of show we enjoy and think is a quality show. I got through four episodes of THE SHIELD (mostly on account of a couple of my favorite actors being in it) before I had to quit. Breaking Bad was so grating on my nerves, I couldn't get through ten minutes of any of the episodes I tried, couldn't get into the Wire or the Sopranos, and I'll watch GoT when it doesn't have all the nudity, sex, foul language, and other objectionable content, plus it would need a character I could like enough to care what happens to them. That's my big thing about getting into a show. I need one character, within the first two episodes of a show, whom I would care if something bad happened to them. I've got four of those in BLACK LIGHTNING, so it works for me. Granted, I also prefer NCIS: NO to the other two, CSI: NY was always my favorite of the three, and I still watch SCARECROW & MRS.KING/MURDER SHE WROTE/REMINGTON STEEL/LARAMIE reruns, so I'm well aware I'm not the average viewer and what I like isn't what's popular, most of the time. I also like superhero shows. I was an avid watcher of AGENT CARTER, I'm an on/off watcher of SUPERGIRL, I've seen a few eps of that LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (not my cup of tea, but an interesting show with a couple of my favorite actors), and I always liked the Dean Cain-era SUPERMAN show. Haven't gotten into the Marvel ones on Netflix though, mostly cause my internet won't support Netflix. But I hear good things from people I know who watch them, especially DAREDEVIL. I'm sorry you find BLACK LIGHTNING to have laughable acting, poor writing, etc. I suppose we just disagree on those points. The only issue I've had has been the costumes, but compared to the cool X-MEN (2000) ones or the leather and gleaming metal of THOR, a TV show-budget on a CW channel show probably just can't compare, so I can overlook it easily. Plus, I'm a sucker for father/daughter stuff and for good men who are just trying to save one little space (like Batman with Gotham, Daredevil with Hell's Kitchen, etc.)

I am not even sure that can be an opinion at this point. The creators have an 8th grade understanding of current social issues.

Strangely enough this part of your statement: "Or are they sick of critics scoring shows with minority or female leads on a different scale?" sounds racist and misogynist itself, so...

I just removed this show from my DVR. It is so bad. It seriously gets worse every episode too. I am at a loss for words on how anyone could find this show good. Everything about it is horrible from the cartoon villain to the terrible acting.
