Congrats kid. Wonder what Cousins gets if Garoppolo gets this coin - and what's he started a handful of games? Would be nice to see the Niners become elite again.

rooting for him/them from afar old school rams/9ers wars were epic... and then that rivalry with the cowboys was epic. always nice when the legendary teams are 'good' - not to sound like a d*ck - i just can't get geared up for the Titans vs. Jags

So winning 5 games with the 49ers is worth that much?

So winning 5 games with the 49ers is worth that much? It is when the other guy didn’t win any.

Now I kind of hope he breaks an ankle. Jesus Christ that’s overpaying!

So winning 5 games with the 49ers is worth that much? He had the team over a barrel. Imagine how Niner fans would have reacted if the team allowed Garoppolo to walk away?

Garoppolo is going to be a franchise QB, they made the right call keeping him and giving him a contract. He was outstanding for them this season, I think the Niners will be strong going forward, they will contend for the playoffs soon IMO.

He may be able to afford a house in San Francisco now.

It does seem crazy, but I wonder if it's a backloaded or front loaded structure or something so that it's not that crazy of a paycheck each year, and it puts pressure on him to perform either earlier or later in his deal.

Good move by the Niners. Even with that contract there are only 2 more teams that have more cap space. They can still go out and get the pieces they need to fill in around him.

It’d not that long of a deal for it to matter a whole lot of it is backloaded.
