Not sure why this gets a lot of hate. Its a great short survival sci fi, better than the drawn out "The Martian".

I think you *need* to have the right viewing environment in order appreciate this film. Too many people, including myself, probably watched this on a computer during daytime and were wondering what was so great about it. In the dark cinemas with 3D glasses or on a 60 inch curved 4K Oled will probably give you a great viewing experience. It’s a immersive film but if you’re not in the right viewing atmosphere than you won’t be likely to enjoy it.

Good point--I just saw it on my TV and was so bored, I had to fast forward it innumerable times--might have been better in the theater

Truly a terrifying movie. The best depiction of life in space.

I’d probably agree and I loved it. The suspense worked well.

Terrific movie. Bullock was great. Wonderful, inspiring, edge-of-your-seat finale.

I thought it was quite overrated 6/10. It was OK, but it wasn't worthy of the oscars it got.

Most awe inspiring opening shot ever. Earth is in every shot and never looked better.

Not sure why this gets a lot of hate. Its a great short survival sci fi, better than the drawn out "The Martian". The Martian was a much better movie " THE MARTIAN" was about an Astronaut (Matt Damon) stranded on Mars. " GRAVITY" was about 2 Astronauts (Sandra Bullock & George Clooney) stuck in Space.

I wasn't a fan, it's not bad, but it feels thin all around.
What Cuarón did with such a small cast was great, bringing out good performances from Bullock and Clooney, but they're normally solid actors regardless. But my main issue is the script, does everything have to go wrong for her? First the satellite which starts the story (fine) then she drifts into space, then low oxygen, then Clooney (SPOILERS: dies), then a fire inside the new station, and it just repeats, it just felt lazy.
