A rookie missing their first season, especially on the 76ers? UNHEARD OF!

It is not the missing part that is strange, it is the mystery surrounding it. Philly has a rabid media and it is very surprising that no one has any idea what is going on with Fultz. Embiid was hurt for years with a bad back and knees. Simmons broke a bone. What is up with Fultz?

What is up with Fultz? well, i never thought has even 1st round pick. he was an 'ok' player on an underachieving losing team in college. he sat out a ton of games late in the season in his season @ wash.----if he can't play an entire college season as an 18 year-old, wouldn't seem that odd he couldn't play an entire nba season...

It's fascinating.
Colangelo had a press conference for the team this morning.
Stated pretty much Fultz could just shoot from the paint right now.
Fascinating. Have stated this multiple times. He's a good kid. But was shocked at the culture of the NBA. He was legit hurt. Was documented with 'scapular imbalance' and rehabbed out in Kentucky - but it greatly affected his confidence and his head.
I think Ainge saw something. He wasn't a 'killer' - and he doesn't have to be - leave that to Embiid and Simmons. Just fit in and do your thing - 'shoot'. I still think it was the right pick. Perfect for what they needed. Combo guard who could create his own shot and run next to Simmons. You don't lose a shot like this kid.
It's bizarre. At this point I think it's 75% mental. He was cleared to play Dec. 9th or so. I'd just come out and shut him down. Send him somewhere to clear his head and 'recover'. He looks like a deer in the headlights. The whole situation has probably been overwhelming to him being 19 and the #1 pick and he just doesn't have the personality of a 'killer' - and I think this is what Ainge saw.
Fascinating.

That has to be a concern and like DSD said the mystery surrounding his injury is perplexing. I think it started out as a shoulder injury, correct?

It's all mental - it's like the kid just forgot how to play.

It's all mental - it's like the kid just forgot how to play. His former coach came out and said how he'd cook the whole team breakfast. The kid is just different. Nothing wrong with that. Came out last year and pretty much called his Dad out for never being there and his Mom and sister raised him. According to his Washington coach and High School Coach - people have counted him out before and he's always risen above. He just has this blank stare and deer in the headlights looks at times. This may seem like not the proper approach - I'd seriously shut the kid down and just send him away and bring him back next year. It's like for the past month they've been deliberately trying to flaunt him in front of the media at times and there's cameras at the practice facility where it shows his shot is still broke. Just get the kid healthy in the head.

Philly gets the win over Boston in the Super Bowl; Boston gets the win over Philadelphia in that trade. Brutal.

Philly gets the win over Boston in the Super Bowl; Boston gets the win over Philadelphia in that trade. Brutal. It is a little early to say that. I still think Fultz can be a contributor here. Either way, it does not matter this season. The process has actually worked. Embiid and Simmons are stars in this league for years to come if they stay healthy. The Sixers are playing as well as any team in the NBA over the past two months. They are on their way up. I am hoping Fultz can come back from this. I really do. He is exactly what the Sixers need. They need a guy who can create his own shot off the dribble and play the 2-4 positions. Fultz could be that guy. If not, the Sixers have all the cap room in the world in the off-season.

It sounds like he has a dipshit private trainer that fucked up his shot.

Shot looks... better? Still ugly though. mental. was cleared Dec 9th. Embiid came out on NBA TV a week or so ago and stated how nobody in the kids life has really had his back and he's only 19. if he needs to be coddled right now so be it. all of his former coaches have his back and apparently every level he's been at he's started off 'slow'. nba was a culture shock. i think this is what Ainge saw. still think he's going to be a killer in time next to Embiid and Simmons. i drool when i think of the kid at Washington running next to Simmons. coddle away Sixers and bring him back next year. long live The Process

Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons stand up for Markelle Fultz.
This is great. Take care of this kid like a little brother - all the talent in the world.
