I am not sure but that is an interesting question. From what I can gather according to Nasa and the International Institute of Space Law no nation can claim sovereignty over the moon but whether the United Nations Outer Space Treaty allows private ownership on celestial bodies is up in the air. Then there is always a chance somebody on another planet owns it and we just don't know it yet.
