He had a career day and won the damn superbowl as a backup. I don't care how good Wentz is. Shouldn't you stay with the guy who won the big game?

Yes, and I'll stick with the one who deepthroated and flickered my nutsack all whilst picking up a bottle cap off the bar with her labia to wild barroom applause.

I get that - and love that line of thinking - thing of it is 'the other chick' could be doing the same for the next decade plus. It's a 'tricky' situation. Wentz is the QB. Question is can they gain assets for Foles right now. i.e. - sell 'High'. he's at his hottest right now. hold onto to him as a backup when you know full well you can sign a vet backup during the offseason? i'd rather sell high and gain a pick. nothing personal. it's business. he'll forever be beloved here.

Foles will go down in history. An unlikely gunslinger who beat the top team of the era and the greatest QB of all time. Wentz will never win anything. The Saints or Falcons win the NFC next year if they go that route.

It’s an interesting question.
On one hand you have a young qb that is MVP caliber and was one of the best for most of the season who happened to get hurt.
On the other you have a still pretty young qb who picked up the slack better than anyone could have hoped and helped lead the franchise through the playoffs to the first super bowl victory in franchise history and got MVP honors while he did it.
I think the only bad choice here is to not make a choice. I’d sell one of these guys this off season for the highest possible return. Sitting on the fence is bound to be a disaster and will expose one of these guys for less than they are now.

There is no way, a literal zero percent chance, that they get rid of Wentz. There is not a circumstance under which this would happen.

Wentz delivered home field advantage to even get to the SB. Then again, we are talking about the Eagles here.

I don’t think they could choose poorly here. I just think they have to choose one. There is zero chance they sideline healthy Wentz. Besides, Foles' value can't ever be greater for return before playing mediocre for an off week.

I don’t think they could choose poorly here. I just think they have to choose one. The thing is Foles will forever be 'Rocky' here. And that's great and a story to take to your grave. Movie worthy. But looking things objectively - Wentz is - and has proved he's everything you want in a QB for the next decade. He was on pace to win the MVP hands down this year. IMO - there's really no concerns about the rehab, healing process, etc - just from watching this kid over the past couple of years. He's a choir boy and an angel that says and does all the right things and is a workhorse. He's a big, mobile QB who can improvise on 3rd and 13 and create magic and make something out of nothing. Sign a vet QB during the offseason - Swap Folesy for a pick - I want a big physical CB - not a midget. Put a statue up of Folesy years down the road.

I’m fine with whatever they choose. They just need to hope like hell it pans out because if they get rid of the quarterback that won them the first Super Bowl and struggle...criticism will fall hard.

The thing is Foles will forever be 'Rocky' here. lil unfair in my eyes. Howards #s were astronomical for a 5 year span or so. Won a WS. Was the NL MVP. Rookie of the Year, 3 Time All-Star. completely fell off the face of the earth after his injury. teams learned how to use 'the shift' against him too. the whole team fell off the face of the earth and it's not like they were incredibly old. utley, rollins, howard, chooch, letting Werth walk was a mistake - Halladay after signing got old overnight as did Lee coming back....Oswalt didn't pan out. national mlb commentators even had a belief they were going to be the Yankees of the NL. great team though. greatest memories of my life

I'm sure Giants fans remember what happen in 1991 when Ray Handley decided to go with Jeff Hostetler instead of Phil Simms because Hostetler had won Super Bowl XXV the previous season (due to Simms injury in the NFC Championship Game).
