90's Nostalgia (this is a thing?) Going to pubs & bars and the popularity of alcohol in general. Relationships, and the urge to get married. interesting. have you tried any/all of it and just never liked it or have not tried because you were never interested? (pubs, bars, alcohol, relationships)

Flip-flops worn in public, regardless of the brand or price. I could see it if someone's near a beach or a swimming pool or if that person's plans for the day involve those places. When did an item sometimes recommended for use in gym showers become so casually used?

(pubs, bars, alcohol, relationships) Yeah those are some of the best things in life. Though I do not get nostalgic about the 90's, I"m more of an 80's guy, but that all depends on when you grew up.

Ice. I never understood why somebody would want to use such a stupid drug when it is a known fact it causes people to become violent and turn on their family and friends but it is the highest used illegal drug in Australia and we now have one of the highest ice usage rates in the world according to Sky News.

Why some people get pissed / disappointed when an app asks them to pay 99 cents to get the full version. Like a redditor said, how many times have we told a cashier to keep the change?

Doomsday Preppers. Their dates for the end of the world have come and gone multiple times but every time they are proven wrong they move on to another date like the world didn't end in 2000 or 2012. It must be going to end in 2025.

Why some people are intolerant of gays and lesbians. The preaching, bible thumping and holier than thou attitude is just annoying.

I get you, hardball but on the other hand... there are some gays and lesbians who are just 'in your face' all the time about them being gay. once we get you're gay, you can just drop the subject and be human. we know you're gay, you don't have to prove it all the time.

the logic of some shows. one week/episode: will you marry me?
the next week: the wedding that does NOT take place in city hall with two schlubs as witnesses.

I was surprised to learn my own cousin (whom I thought was quite liberal) was homophobic or at the very least inclined to discriminate based on sexual orientation. Since she was "ok about gay marriage" I thought she was "ok about the whole thing - of being gay" until I heard her say "its ok if you are gay, but be gay at your home, in your private life, I dont want to see it out on the streets". And she didn't mean gay parades etc. She meant two people of the same sex being affectionate. Holding hands and/or kissing. So since then the whole "i am ok with you being gay" thing can also mean "as long as i never see any sign of it" I dont really buy it automatically as being ok with it. so what do you mean by "proving it"?

just as i said. they are constantly in your face about being gay. everything out of their mouths are about gay things and how they are gay. even when the conversation isn't about that, they always turn the convo into the fact that they are gay.
we even had one, when she was disciplined for attendance [she was absent every week -- along with her coworker/lover -- i mean who are you fooling?] and she fired back with 'is this because i am gay?' no, it's about how you don't do your job.
you can't play the gay card for every 'wrong' you feel.

Why some people are intolerant of gays and lesbians. The preaching, bible thumping and holier than thou attitude is just annoying. I don't get them either hardball. I grew up with a homophobic Father that was always putting down homosexual people and calling them wonderful names like fags, poofters and dykes and he made me hate myself when I started having feelings for my best friend 'cause I thought there was something seriously wrong with me and I was afraid what other people would think if they found out. My parents abandoned me when I came out and I haven't spoken to either of them in over 20 years and didn't attend my Father's funeral but luckily for me I had a very supportive and accepting Sister who has been more like a Mum to me than a Sister and a supportive Aunt and Uncle who I am very close with and coming out was the best thing I did 'cause I realised there was nothing wrong with me and it was him who had the problems and for the first time I finally felt like I could be myself and not have to hide who I was. My Wifey and I are having our second wedding (our first here in Australia thanks to Same Sex Marriages being legal now) and looking back on everything we have both been through it was worth it to get to where we are today and we both don't miss our parents 'cause we have each other and I have a family that loves both of us.

I am sorry to hear about what happened between you and your parents. I know some people who have the same attitude towards LGBT, and I've given up trying to reason with them, it's pointless. Happy to know your sis, aunt and uncle accepted you for what you are, and you did the right thing in coming out. To hell with what others think, as if it's any of their business anyway. Congrats to you and your wife, and all the best!

They are not worth wasting your time on 'cause they are full of hate and are never going to change no matter what you say to them but the good thing is they are finding out they are in the minority now 'cause there are a lot of people who do support us and don't share their backwards views as they found out here with the results of the Postal Plebiscite for Same Sex Marriages here last year and I only surround myself with people who I love and care about now and don't bother with them. A number of them spend so much time whinging about us on the internet they waste their own lives away.

90's Nostalgia (this is a thing?) Going to pubs & bars and the popularity of alcohol in general. Relationships, and the urge to get married. It's a thing. I don't mind the 90s nostalgia. I just hate how people go about it. Acting like 11:59:59 PM on Dec. 31st, 1999 was the last good second of life. The year 2000 was not any different. It took several years into the 2000s for things to change. But these overly-obsessed 90s fanatics don't see it that way, which is f'n ridiclous. This one girl I'm friends with, She started Junior High in the year 2000, and that's when she started getting bullied in school. but does she blame the bullies for being bullies? NO. She blames The state of Texas and the year 2000. Ridiculous. I got bullied in school too but I blame the bullies for being a'holes, not the year it happened or the state of california.
