When I was a kid(maybe something around 12-ish years old) I smashed the screen on my gameboy once because my temper got the better of me (like sorta semi hit the screen out of frustration, but once it ruined the screen(never did it since)) but once I was into my teens on up, while I still got upset playing games etc with using language etc, I never got to the point I started hitting things, especially like in a case like this where his room is pretty much shot. it's a wonder his parents did not go off on him, especially for his room walls being torn up. they got to put a end to that crap. JHA DurantYep, especially with the rest of his room that bad and he even said he put his head threw a wall. basically he's got anger issues that I hope he outgrows as he gets a bit older as if he's still doing that stuff years from now, say into his 20's, that's going to look pretty bad. hell, it looks pretty bad already but at least I assume he's still in his teens so it's a little easier to overlook a little bit.

deembastilleSadly, it seems your right on some level. hell, nowadays it seems the word 'discipline' is missing from parents on their children as they just let them do whatever they want and if you do that your going to get some messed up kids basically. they need correcting occasionally as if you don't do that, and keep firm at a earlier age, they are going to be that much more off the rails as teenagers. because if they get away with a bunch of crap as kids, I have a feeling they are just going to be that much more defiant as teenagers. but with that said, I guess some teenagers are worse than others. also, it's like some people have no appreciation of the value of a dollar and just break crap all of the time or don't take care of crap and lack a respect for others. but unless someone is trash, or something along those lines, I can't see the average middle-class household allowing that crap to happen, especially with the holes in the wall thing as that just looks like trash and I would have definitely made that kid pay if I was the parent in some form or another. like 20 years ago in 1998... I was working with someone and I borrowed their music CD and after a little time passed I returned it in the exact same condition I received it. but then not long after, they wanted to borrow one of my music CD's, which I really did not want to do because I don't really trust people with them outside of a select few people I know and trust, but since I borrowed his I sort of felt obligated to let him borrow one of mine and when I gave it to him it was basically in mint condition with no scratches and I told him to be careful with it and don't scratch it etc and after a little time passed he returned it, and sure enough, there was scratches on there that I know where not there when I first lent it to him (it was not real bad or anything, as it still played, but definitely some scuffs etc that you can't just wipe off), and as usual he denied that he did it when I know for a fact he did as they just not not magically appear there. but after that I was pretty much done with that person as that's a lack of respect for other peoples property.

I remember a few weeks ago there was a story about how doctors officially classified video game addiction as a type of mental illness. I also remember that the comments section was filled with all kind of people laughing and saying it was bullishit. What a wonderful world we live in.

Too many people can't/won't say no to themselves. This is the problem. It's all instant gratification. Have control over yourselves.

Complete bullshit. Too many people can't/won't say no to themselves. This is the problem. It's all instant gratification. Have control over yourselves. What is? This 'diagnosis'. It is not a disability or a disease. It's a lack of discipline issue.nothing more.

This 'diagnosis'. It is not a disability or a disease. It's a lack of discipline issue.nothing more. Where did you get your medical degree? Because several organizations a whole lot more qualified than you completely disagree. That's kind of the point, someone with an addiction doesn't have the discipline or self-control. That's what an addiction is.
