Well, I was checking INTK posts here, starting with ye olde Sleuth singer, and I just remembered one that I’ve been meaning to ask for a while.
A friend of mine recalls a movie, possibly B&W, either from the ‘60s or ‘70s in which there’s a scene in which two children are placed on a countertop. She remembers that there was something very bad that was going to happen to the children, but she can’t recall what; she originally remembered it as a horror movie, but now she’s not sure.
It’s a very clear memory for her, but she has no idea what the movie was.
Anyone remember this too?

Anyone remember this too? Is she sure it's a movie and NOT an episode of some anthology-series?

RiP, IMDbI’m going to talk to her tonight, so I can ask, but the last time we spoke about it she definitely remembered a movie.

For some reason I came to think of Our Mother's House 1967, I could find a few kitchen scenes with kids eating, but not a countertop...

That's probably too minor a scene description to use and correctly recall the movie or episode. But, what do I know?

Were these children regular-sized? When I think of them "placed on countertop" I thought of shrunken children initially, Like Honey I Shrunk the Kids-tier, but then you likely didn't mean that.
Is it 13 Ghosts (1960)? There were child ghosts in the movie who sat on the kitchen countertop, but they were transparent.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I’ll let her know. Welcome to the boards, dodge4life! Perhaps “placed on the countertop” is not exactly the best wording, but they are expressly told to go and sit there, not shrunk. I’ll see about 13 Ghosts.
