do you eat out.
I live a 3 minute stroll to the beach and shops and I use a shopping trolley so I shop every day or every other day for fresh produce and don't need to use supermarket bags. We also grow some of our own such as herbs and salad veges.
We tend to eat out between once a week and once a fortnight, also local. In our small tourist village we have 20-30 restaurants of every different kind so we are very lucky to have so much choice.

I shop once a week, then might pick up a couple of things during the week. We are very close to Walmart's grocery section.

Subsistence level shopping all the way, hitting the store 4-5 times per week. We go out once a week for dinner, and I try to limit dining out for lunch to once a week as well.

I food shop on an "as needed" basis, and I'm very fortunate to be able to do most of it in my immediate neighborhood. There are several independent produce stores, within a few blocks, and they all sell grains, pastas, dairy, oils and other staples - and, at much better prices than the supermarkets. There are some bakeries, and European markets, that sell wonderful hearty breads and ethnic foods. And, I like the local meat/fish stores. (There's no shortage of nearby stores that sell nice wines. ) I only take the car to the "supermarket," every couple of weeks, or so, for some canned/jarred items, household goods ... and my jug-wine for my daily sips. Hey, I can't watch the evening news, without a "hit." I eat out, randomly. That's mostly with neighbors, at close-by places. As I said, in another post, late afternoon small meals are becoming more common than larger meals. Sometimes, afternoon outings are combined with lunch. On rare occasion, I decide to eat breakfast out.

Chinese delivery and Sam's Club for essentials and snacks. Soda, seltzer, pickles, canned soups at supermarket. I can go a month between shoppings.

Not if there is any other food available. Don't be sad. Foodgistically, I'm relatively happy.

Don't be sad. Foodgistically, I'm relatively happy. OK. I know everyone is different, however I can't imagine not having the pleasure of wiping the juice from a fresh mango, peach or nectarine off my chin and feeling the vitamins leaping about in my veins or experiencing the scrumptiousness of a rattatouille or salad loaded baked red potato with sour cream and cheese! I just hope your take away Chinese has some veg of some kind.

What kind of stuff do you mean? Fruit and vegetables. I usually store them in the refrigerator.
