An interesting movie--The first 45 minutes of the film set on the island was as magical and impressive as any DC movie ever--But then you have the ugly and depressing reality of WW I, and the movie drags on badly for the next hour--and then the final battle with Aries was really well done--So, a mixed bag--Gal Gadot was great, and so were the actresses who portrayed her mother and who portrayed her trainer

It's one of the better super hero movies at the end of the day as not many are worth re-watching but this is one that is.
6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up) ; I have seen it once so far but will definitely be seeing it again in the not too distant future.

This one surprised me. I figured it'd be alright, but I really ended up enjoying it. It had a great balance of escapist-fantasy and self-awareness.
I didn't know the character at all going in and find comic book movies hit or miss...this was one of the more interesting ones in recent memory for me.
Gal Gadot is also really good in the role (doesn't hurt that she is beautiful) and is more than just a pretty face in a costume. She's got cool background music too.

kingkoopaReally? ; you never even heard of that name before or nothing like that whatsoever? I am a little surprised because Wonder Woman seems to be the clear cut most known female super hero character to my knowledge. that's why I figure that one almost could not fail. if it did, that would be the end of female lead super hero movies for the foreseeable future. but then again... Wonder Woman seems to be about the only quality female super hero character that can hang with the best from the guys side of things (like Batman/Superman/Thor/Iron Man etc (for the record... I don't care for Iron Man as they are watchable but I have no desire to re-watch them)) as others seem to be too generic etc, like don't stand out like Wonder Woman does. because while I would personally like there to be more female lead super hero movies... given what I just said, might make that difficult to happen. so I guess for now we just got Wonder Woman to rely on for sequels etc. p.s. one super hero movie I was surprised on in a good way was... Thor (2011). I remember not knowing nothing about that and seen the TV commercials on it etc and it looked like some generic super hero movie and it surprised me that it was one of the better movies of the super hero genre as ill re-watch those here and there. Yep but did you see Batman v Superman (2016) prior to seeing Wonder Woman? ; because with that I could basically tell Wonder Woman (2017) was likely going to be a good movie to where it would be hard for them to mess it up just given her general presence etc and being there is basically no competition in the female lead super hero genre either makes it that much less likely for it to fail.

mslo79I knew of the character (I knew she had a rope and an invisible jet), but that was about all I would have been able to say. I knew she was in Batman and Superman's universe. Couldn't tell you her abilities, villains, motivations...I don't know how faithful the movie was to the traditional origin of the character, but I thought it handled a pretty fantastical exposition very well...one thing that struck me about the movie was how effectively it laid out a LOT of character information without being boring or preachy. Funny you mention "Thor" as I thought the same thing about that movie. Very well told. The humor in "Thor" was a standout. It hit the mark perfectly on how seriously to take itself. I haven't seen the sequel, but I dig the character enough that I wouldn't mind checking it out. I did see "Batman Vs Superman." It was a bit loud and all over the place (I thought), but I thought the same thing. I was rooting for Ben Affleck as Batman, indifferent but not disappointed with Henry Cavill as Superman, but came away thinking that Wonder Woman was the most fun part of that movie. In general, the DC universe is starting off extremely grim...which I'm sort of on the fence with..."Wonder Woman" brought back the fun a bit, which was a welcome addition to me.

7.5/10 for me. This and Logan (8/10), the only comic book movies worth checking out in 2017. If there were others, just forget about them.

I thought it was a very good movie. I would rate it 8\10
But i do feel many people praise it to be fantastic simply because it has a female lead.

It was a decent enough movie, though nowhere near as spectacular as it was made out to be.

It was only okay.
I think the fact that all the other DC movies had been utter shit made it seem better.

kingkoopaThere is actually three movies total... -Thor (2011) -Thor: The Dark World (2013) -Thor: Ragnarok (2017) (since you brought up humor... this seems to have more than the first two off the top of my head) I like them all about the same. personally I generally find the DC movies better than Marvel ones as the Thor movies are pretty much the only Marvel super hero movies Ill re-watch off the top of my head where as everything else is DC basically. but apparently I am in the minority, especially if you go by general IMDb opinions etc. but I do think the DC movies are dissed a bit too much around here as they still do solid $$$ in the theaters so they must still be well liked outside of sites like this etc. but all-in-all it appears Marvel super hero movies are more liked than DC from what I can tell. also, I like Cavill as Superman and Affleck as Batman. Affleck is my favorite Batman so far as he's better than Keaton and especially Bale if you ask me as I think Bale, considering he's a A-list actor, has a weaker overall presence than many other name actors out there (not saying his presence is bad or anything, it just does not stand out like many other names do for me). but I agree that, while I do like Batman v Superman (2016), Wonder Woman was generally one of the better things about the movie with the more limited part she had.

I just rewatched it to see if it held up and I still greatly enjoy it. Works as a superhero movie, a war movie, a sword and sandals adventure, and a romance all in one.

Even though I consider myself more of a Marvel fan than DC, Wonder Woman is IMO one of the better comic-book movies released in recent years. Definitely the best DCEU movie and easily ranked among the best MCU movies. Great combination of superhero movie, war movie, and a little bit of well-done romance, 8/10.

I thought it was a very good movie. I would rate it 8\10 But i do feel many people praise it to be fantastic simply because it has a female lead. It can;t be helped to be praised on its female lead since she's the lead which is what makes it unique t some extent. However, it is also a well made origin story with great action throughout until the ending where most superhero movies tend to overdo it and this one is no exception.

I love Wonder Woman--and I am so glad that WB waited (albeit probably not intentionally) to produce this movie until they had someone worthy to portray the title character. Gal Gadot, imo, represented a near-perfect combination of intelligence, beauty, athleticism, and compassion. Of course, the writing, direction, and editing played an important part, but none of those would have sufficed without Ms. Gadot's sympathetic warmth and strength of character. Also, for the first time, I found myself liking the character of Steve Trevor--in the comics, he almost always struck me as a hopeless case, especially in the Silver Age adventures: supposedly hopelessly in love with Diana (which he demonstrated by annoyingly and cloyingly calling her "Angel"), but perpetually trying to get her to give up all that frivolous Amazoning-around and settle down as his loving (i.e., slavishly adoring) wifey-poo. But Chris Pine (with, again, the help of good writing, directing, and editing) managed to turn Trevor into a believable soldier--and more important, a believable man. I also appreciated the device of setting the film during World War I: it gave the story a nice retro feel, and--by bringing it back to the 21st Century at the end--tidily illustrated Diana's immortality without tiresome explanations. A solid 9 out of 10.

i enjoyed it very much. DC's best offering so far. It had strong characters and actual chemistry between the two main characters.
