Wow.
That was terrible. So the war with the Klingons was ended because they put a bomb on Kronos and gave the detonator to L'Rell and... What? That's it? That's your way of concluding the war? Utterly awful. The ending (captain Pike's Enterprise showing up) was a nice touch (as was the Clint Howard cameo) but the rest of the episode was pretty awful.
There's still enough good stuff in this show to justify another season but the writers really need to take into account that it's probably not a good idea to make your most interesting character one of the first casualties of the show (Lorca). And better still, not to make the star of the thing, the least interesting and likeable character (Burnham). Also some occasional levity would be nice.
6.5/10
Must do better.

I agree, the solution to the war was painfully bad in multiple ways. Why would they trust L'Rell? Why would they believe that the other Klingons wouldn't just kill her and destroy the detonator? And how would the bomb survive inside an active volcano anyway? And it still makes zero sense that the Admiral would put mirror Georgiou in charge of the mission, instead of taking command of the ship herself. The whole thing between Burnham and Tyler has been pretty bad too. I am glad that is finished, and I hope it is for good!

Bit of a shame the way this season ended up. After the first couple of very poor episodes I found this show to be a strong upward curve but sadly, post Lorca signing out, it's finished as poorly as it started.
That Burnham voice over speech was awful and just put me right back in the wtf mindset I had when she was doing the Alice in Wonderland speech - whilst attempting to escape death no less (!) - again back near the start of the season...

At least it's now obvious that the show isn't set in the Prime timeline.

I thought it was canon... The show is canon, I guess. But seems like a different Enterprise means that it's set in a different timeline. Like the JJ Movies are. There is only one timeline (TOS(incl. movies)-TNG(incl. movies)-DS9-VOY). All the others are non-canon BS.

That's not the case. The JJ timeline is perfectly canon. Indeed it's the same timeline, up until Nero turned up.
