I must admit, I know next to nothing about Imperial, outside of having seen some 1950s TV commercials for it. I'd like to see some more pictures please.

For a brief period of time they were an independent division of Chrysler although many people today forget this and just call them Chrysler Imperials. Typically during the 1950's through 1970's a car dealer would own either a Dodge/Dodge Trucks or a Chrysler/Plymouth/Imperial franchise (DeSoto too for a few years). 1975 was the last independent Imperials, but the '76 to '78 Chrysler New Yorker was the same car as the old '75 Imperial. I'll post some more pictures soon. They are one of my favorite marques. I particularly love the '69 to '73 fuselage bodied cars. Very nice lines although build quality unfortunately wasn't the best. |

 Kind of unique seeing a luxury car in NASCAR... I think the best they did was 6th place in one race, although at that time there was absolutely no Chrysler racing support (Lee Iacocca had taken over and the company had just been "bailed out" by the Reagan administration. These guys were doing it independently which was tough... |

I've been really enjoying posting pictures of Imperial cars....seems like a great marque. They should bring it back....I'm certain there's a demand for a the return of the big American luxury sedan.
