Not really sure Disney knows what it's doing with all these remakes, but Guy Ritchie and Aladdin sounds like it might be an inspired pairing, as Kenneth Branagh and Cinderella was.
Also I wouldn't mind seeing a live action Jasmine. Let's hope she looks and dresses like, say, Maria Montez.

SJWs had a field day with the original too - even managing to get some lyrics replaced on re-releases. (I doubt Disney has re-inserted the words Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face, but I hope they have.) |

It's an interesting idea, but it'll be extremely difficult for them to outdo the 1992 animated version. Still the best of the traditionally animated Disney movies IMO.

Dev Patel is actually a solid choice for Aladdin if they want a name actor in the role. I just hope they cast Jasmine, Jafar and Genie just as well. |

And then people would complain that the character was completely different. If you ask me, they should do a new version that is a direct adaptation of the fairy tale, rather than a remake of the animated version. That way, they wouldn't have to worry about how the movie differed. There would still be the critics who would call it a "remake," but at least it wouldn't be the filmmakers' faults. |
