I hope they at least pay for the food or help clean up.

My five cats? When I had them? They all died, sadly.

..you'd love my neighborhood...there are about 2 dozen feral cats out and about around here...I am befuddled how these creatures survive in the bitter cold and snow...I am also aware that these cats cannot be domesticated once they have reached adulthood, and that people that feed these cats should be held responsible for their welfare...

koskiewicz;
I TNA/TNR the ferals on my property. I build houses for them to survive the winter which are sheltered under my back porch. They are fed daily and I give them vitamins in their diet.
That is how I took in my five, as they were from a single litter plus two. I had them fully insured and I had left resources for their care in my will.

...good for you maya...at least you are following the law (at least in my area). The upside to all the feral cats in my area is "zero rodents" so I leave them alone. One in particular likes to sun in my backyard, but I have been cautioned by animal control people not to try to interact with it. On the other hand, I'm told if you spot a feral kitten, they can be properly domesticated.
I am still befuddled on how these adult creatures survive in the bitter cold and snow.
