Wow, this is a seriously difficult decision. I love all the ones that previous posters listed. Pre 1960 film is mostly wonderful. I'll give it a go, but it changes often!

1.The Song of Bernadette (1943) - 7/10 (within my Top 186 movies. I have seen it twice so far (Feb 15th 2016/Dec 20th 2016))
in fact, that's the only pre-1960 movie I like.
