Great story. What's even greater is after numerous wrote him off years ago - he's humbled a great deal with age. He's extremely likable and gracious now and appears to be having fun - and it comes across genuine - like Agassi when he got older. Nadal has warmed up to the media/fans too - this is what tennis fans want - not a 'robot' and cold hearted terminator with no personality.

My Mum doesn't like him! i despised him when he made Andy Roddick cry at a trophy acceptance during a Slam Final - wish I could find it on Youtube but can never seem too. he was a cold hearted robot and a d*ck! he's changed. he's very likeable. his interactions with the fans and his acceptance speeches over the past couple of years and his interaction with Nadal too has been great theater. nice to see a leopard change his spots. it's like when Agassi married Graf and had a kid(s?) - he was like a completely different human being - he was just gracious towards everything and everybody - i've gotta pick up his book at one point......

It was FIFTEEN years ago that Agassi was number one? Bloody hell, time does fly! Anyway, well done to Federer. He is certainly a worthy holder of the #1 ranking.
