This is a movie that just opened yesterday, and has been heavily hyped on TV.
I don't know who plays Samson and Delilah; they are both very attractive, but from I've seen from the promos, I have to wonder if either of them can actually act. Doesn't much matter; the movie seems to be more CGI than anything else.
It's been my experience that the films most heavily hyped in the media are the ones that fail, both with critics and at the box office.
I wonder if any of the posters here have seen this movie, and what they think of it. I doubt that I'll ever see it--movies are so damned expensive today, and I hate CGI. In fact, I have a feeling that this movie will be as much of a bomb as KING DAVID, starring Richard Gere.
I realize that this movie is not a "classic", and probably never will be, but I must admit that I am curious.

I was actually thinking of seeing this just as I like the old epic films of the '50s and '60s. Billy Zane is always entertaining even if he's awful quite a lot of the time. Maybe i'll catch it before it goes off the big screen.

it didn't inspire confidence with that trailer and marketing. I think as far as old testament figures go when it came to Samson, a modern genuinely serious-minded movie about telling this story could have worked fine. Almost sort of like a Biblical version of Gladiator (2000).

It might be interesting to compare this movie with DeMille's SAMSON AND DELILAH.

The Victor Mature/Hedy Lamarr film cannot be duplicated regardless of CGI...

So far, SAMSON doesn't seem to be doing that well. Disney/Pixar's BLACK PANTHER is the top box-office star this weekend.
