teleadm I loved Spielberg's The Terminal and have been wanting to rewatch it again recently. Did you notice Zoe Saldana making the Vulcan "Live long and prosper" hand signal, years before she became Uhura in Star Trek?

Did you notice Zoe Saldana making the Vulcan "Live long and prosper" hand signal, years before she became Uhura in Star Trek? That actually a bit embarrassing, I didn't even make the connection... The Terminal, is in my mind a nice movie, and sometimes a movie filled with niceness is nice to watch, since it's not too cloying. :format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-1184933-1362572591-6938.jpeg.jpg) Since I have this album/CD, it was a bit fun that it was his autograph he was missing.

K么shikei , Death by Hanging (1968) Nagisa 脭shima Hi Planet X,it sounds like you made an amazing discovery with this film,is there anything around about the real life case? Thanks. Hi there MDF The murder in 1958 of a high school girl in Komatsugawa by a Korean named Ri Chin-u was a highly publicized trial that attracted much public interest. It was an unusual casel, Ri reported the details of his crime directly to the newspapers and sent a memento to the victim's family, which attracted a lot of extra attention. Ri was apparently a studious intelligent boy from an impoverished background, when arrested in 1959 it was discovered that he had previously killed another woman, Ri displayed no remorse nor wish to reform sending shockwaves through Japanese society. An intense public debate followed between those that vehemently supported the death penalty and those who did not. The death sentence was eventually handed down despite the fact that the crime was committed by minor... An important source for 脭shima was the letter correspondence between imprisoned Ri Chin鈥檜 and the journalist Bok Junan, published in 1963 under the title Tsumi to shi to ai to (Crime and Death and Love). Some of the scenes in the second half of the film such as parts of R鈥檚 monologue and letter extracts are almost literal quotations from this correspondence. Many Thanks for the J没 jin yuki otoko (1955) rec. Enjoyed the excellent film very much last night, great exciting set pieces some wonderfully dark moments some thoughtful observations .... The time code counter thankfully at the top was overcome by placing a dark cloth at the top of the screen, ...

Classic films: Cabaret (1972)--What should have won the Best Picture Oscar for its year, IMO. Atmospheric, still frightening (that sequence of the Hitler Youth punk singing "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" makes me think of Donald Trump as a kid for some reason), and Liza Minnelli sings better than her mother did in this film. Cabaret and Chinatown are the 2 unluckiest flicks in oscar history - they would have won in most years.

Hi,I hope you are having a good weekend on Planet X and I'm sorry about such a late reply (my internet service has been rubbish for last week or so!) I want to say thank you for the fascinating Ri Chin-u info, and one thing that surprised me,is that with how major trials have now become big media events,I can't find any news report Vids on the case. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed J没 jin yuki otoko,I really liked that Honda made the people as monstrous (and in some cases more evil) as the Half-Human.

Thanks MDF , Last week I updated my old "Gorilla Men " thread with the addition of Fuminori Ohashi who plays the snowman, he had a notable cinematic career in costuming and special effects... I like Honda's films, I will be following up with, Gasu ningen dai 1 g么 , The Human Vapour (1960) ... Another surprising feature of note the Assistant Director, Kihachi Okamoto who made some excellent films in the late 50s and throughout the 60s, Nikudan (1968) a great favourite...
