tpfkar How can that be if they have never heard of him? But they had heard of him. From the moment of Adam and Eve's "fall from grace" moment in Eden, God prophesied about the coming Messiah. It was faith in this coming Messiah that will save those who came before Jesus. The OT is chock full of examples of this. Ripe for some charlatan/nutbag to step in and lead the guileless doctrinaire. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

On the contrary, I'm saying it's at least as easy to read as any other classical literature. Then why do Christians often read so much more into it than other classical literature? 1. Tail wagging the dog syndrome. It's the same thing goofy non-religious people do to come up with questions about how blacks shouldn't be Christians because of what white dudes did almost 2,000 years later. You can always find something out of context to back something you desperately want to believe. 2. Most people don;t tun to a ancient book for worship in the first place, but of the few holy books out there, the Bible is not the most difficult by a long shot. You will be happy to know that whenever you feel confused about Scripture, I will be hear to help you!

How did he get to China? Chariot of fire? But that's what I'm talking about. The effects would be amazing. I just hope they find a good writer... Same way he got to India. Chariot of Fire?

I have heard that theory, and it seems like a strange way to go about it, surely an omnipotent god would seed his ideas among the various peoples of the earth in ways that made sense to them throughout time, as opposed to once in an obscure town and then find a way to shoehorn everyone in at some point in the future. The Yi vessel thing is interesting, but also seems pretty spurious on cursory investigation. It makes a whole lot more sense to provide grace for the ignorant than it would to inspire them to believe the wrong thing. They literally say in the Bible that Jesus is a propitiatory sacrifice meaning it does indeed cover everyone across all times who wants to be covered and ho aren't specifically excluded. This doesn't mean that they get to stay ignorant, only that they are given the opportunity to become smart in contrast to the wicked. That is nice and convenient!

Same way he got to India. Chariot of Fire? I would imagine it was conventional means, but, who am I to say? Paul was taken away in a supernatural manner, so, perhaps the other apostles were given similar methods for all I know.

Funny story ( and true) I was, in fact made to read the Bible for six years as I attended a posh Anglican school on a scholarship for my high school education. We had a subject called Divinity which was compulsory, and in the end of year exams, shall we say my normal grades were not the same as my grade in Divinity? Being a scholarship girl, I HAD to pass or be seen to pass, so my grades were 50%,50%,50%,50%,50%,50%. I therefore have evidence that I know 50% of the Bible.

Gadreel's the one you want to go to. After all, his wife taught theology....in night school!

Including yours, even though you've insinuated numerous times that I am an idiot, douche, etc. I'm only teasing. And I only said it because the night school thing was something someone else was getting teased about, because I joked about the idea with Goz after she had a confrontation with the aforementioned poster and because of the brutal tongue lashing she gave me earlier on your behalf (where she backed your extensive knowledge and faith).

are you assholes still yakking about this? A thread about black people hating Christianity because of white dudes would be unsustainable for this many pages. It's moved on to Revelation and Chinese people who must become Christians either by preaching or by osmosis via their own beliefs which is just as well since the Bible is so open to interpretation, there's not point in getting any knowledge from it anyway. Now that you're up to speed, come back when it's at page 50...

I look forward, though, to future tongue lashings. It makes me a little homesick, actually.

tpfkar It will be at this point that God will rebuke the rest of the world in favor of the Jews. That doesn't make even good nonsense. The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.

Nevertheless, pulling me into your debate with Goz and insulting my ex wife is being a douche. I do not think I have insinuated you are an idiot, you did call me out on insulting you previously and I set you straight, I would do so again if you brought me up on a percieved insult.
