It's really early to make such predictions, more than 90% of the movies of 2018 haven't come out yet. However, I don't think it will get a Best Picture nom. It's a pretty good MCU movie, but it has come out way too early (Get Out was an exception due to it being an indie, allowing it to grow over time) and Wonder Woman, another movie that was in the media a lot due to politics, also didn't make it.

Am I the only one that's getting tired of all the political involvement in movies? Does a movie deserve awards if it's good? Absolutely. Does a movie deserve awards and attention just because of it's political impact? No. It really irritates me that almost all the media attention Black Panther gets is about the political aspects, when there are so many interesting things we could hear about it: how it was shot, the research done in African culture, more detailed views at the characters, the cinematography and music, the way Coogler directed this movie, interesting on-set stories etc. And instead every single interview or article I read is basically just another article pretty much identical to the 100 other articles you've already seen about how diverse Black Panther is and they don't even talk about the actual movie for a second.

Diverse? Black Panther isn't diverse. The cast is mostly black. I think there's only 4 whites in the whole movie, and 3 of them were killed off early in the movie.

at next years OSCARS. I think its written in stone. You're seriously delusional--Hollywood despises superhero and fantasy comic book movies--you do know that, don't you? Plus the movie has a lower rating on Rt Audience than many other comic book movies

Dark Knight, Wonder Woman, and Logan couldn't do it. So doubt Black Panther will break the curse.

Yes, the academy don't want to be called racist again Why not? It doesnโt demonstrably hurt the organization or change the opinion of those who slavishly worship it.

Dark Knight, Wonder Woman, and Logan couldn't do it. So doubt Black Panther will break the curse. Agreed. If masterpieces like TDK and Wonder Woman (both of which were nominated for Best Theatrical Motion Picture by the PGA) couldn't break through, then probably no CBM ever will and certainly not a piece of crap like Black Panther.

And what troubled you so about the film, little one? Tell Death Man everything. under developed villain, poor cgi, pacing issues, marvel fake out death, no charisma lead These are serious offenses, my diminutive ally. Surely your faith in the MCU must be shaken to the core. And rightly so. Tell me, will you see any of the other upcoming Marvel films in theaters?
