Let's be honest, it takes a lot to make the internet cringe nowadays.

I actually liked this. I've heard far worse national anthem renditions, and far worse things done by Fergie.

If you're going to sing the National Anthem, just do it the way that it's supposed to be sung. Singing it any other way, especially in your own personal interpretation, is usually a recipe for disaster.

well, the problem with her is 1: she walked out like she was all that... this song is about respect. respect for yourselves, your country and others. 2: whose retarded idea was it to have that stuup beat of the drum in the background? really? shithead.
3: this was the all star game which is the best of the best in basketball coming together to play, right? so why is this area so small? it looked like a urban school gymnasium.
4: I found all the guys swaying to be far more inappropriate and disrespectful than her. she might not have known she was being disrespectful or that she was being cringeworthy. then you have the assholes who won't take off their hats. these are forms of respect. the guys at 147 sum her behavior up perfectly. shut up already.
5: the camera behaving like this is cher's [yet another] final tour didn't help with the cringeworthyness.
6: then you have the audience [it looks like] reacting to the guy yawning [??] at like 2minutes and laughing. this is exhausting and embarrassing to watch and listen to but that doesn't help.
7: lets play some baskebaww! good god!
the song is about respect, as I said before but it is also about what our country had to go through in order to be come a country. as little as it sounds, we were a struggling wanna be country who had had enough of whackadoo king George taxing our asses just for taking a dump. so we fought back. we ended up winning our freedom when we only had a tenth of what the other side had. what we did have is determination. we were also smart enough to notice a whackadoo when we met one.
I think all these people [doesn't matter if they are singing it for the world series or a college game] should be screened beforehand and 'tested out'. if they tested as respectful but sang it disrespectfully that is a direct violation of our country and you should be considered a terrorist.

They actually did rehearse it, whatever powers that be gave her the green light knew what they were in for.
