If I could read the directions I might get good at this.
Those were great questions.
I continue to marvel at how obscure many of the oscar nommed songs are. I love the song from Parenthood- LOVE TO SEE YOU SMILE. Itβs written and performed by Randy Newman ,back after a long illness. But finding any recording of this song was quite a challenge. I finally got an old used soundtrack cd.

-- No Nomination -- Not on any of her Soundtracks or CDs -- It's like either Columbia or King (or both) disowned it -- Wonder if there was a squabble or a copyright problem

Just looked in to see I just missed the Bonus Round! Sorry I missed it, since there was only one I didn't know.
Around 1966: I got a three record set of Henry Mancini playing all of the Best Song winners up to The Song from May Poppins which I am not sure how to spell. I still don't understand how "Sweet Leilani" could win over "They Can't atake That Away From Me" or even "That Old Feeling."
Bit of song trivia: Ira Gershwin wrote the lyrics for three Ocar nominated songs and the titles all had the word "away" in them.

It's spelled "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" I've also been wondering about "Sweet Leilani", and if it could have something to do with Bing Crosby's enormous polularity at the time as a recording artist, and that sheet music stood for 50% of the music selling market, and it maybe was easy to play at home on piano or guitars.

Congrats to Batπ¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦
Sorry about the Bonus Round, but it is so darn cold here, my fingers weren't registering on my iPad. We had record high temps last week, pushing 90. We are now having nights in the 30's and there is no heat in this #$&*!! Nursing home!
Headed back under the covers!

There's a funny sight gag in SAVING MR. BANKS, with Emma Thompson portraying the 'Mary Poppins' author. She keeps giving the struggling songwriters a hard time, and at one point complains about a silly word they use in another song. So they quickly hide the sheet music to 'Supercal ...' -- knowing she's going to hit the ceiling over THAT one!
Oh btw -- the POPPINS song winner was 'Chim Chim Cher-ee'
