I recently watched Hamlet (2000) with Ethan Hawke walking through Blockbuster Video. He also had dial-up on his computer. Dated? Yes. Still entertaining? Also yes.

I guess it depends by what one means 'aged badly'?

Wargames is a pretty good example. Wonderful film but incredibly dated. Just look at all that high tech equipment Matthew Broderick has in his bedroom... . Also, who looks through microfiche at the library anymore?

I guess it depends by what one means 'aged badly'? I guess the OP means something that is clearly of its time. Like an 80s movie that screams the 80s or a 90s movie that screams 90s.

No you aren't wrong and eventually we will have people viewing 2010's films as if its ancient history.

Meh,
Depends on the movie and why it's good.

I agree. That 'dated' concept has a flaw with me. That would discredit 90+% of movies. I like to think of the context for instance.
An personal example would be Robert Aldrich's 'Kiss Me Deadly'. It's 1955 but I find it still compelling, and fascinating with it's tape recorder telephone answering machine, 50's sports cars and enigmatic nuclear science subtext. Of course nuclear technology theft is a perennial topic.

WEll, I watch old films all the time, so the concept of ageing badly doesn't really mean much to me. I enjoy very few contemporary films compared to the number of old films I like.

politicidalIn that case I might answer Yes to the topic as even if something is more of a product of it's time, but I still enjoy watching it, then it's good. but at the same time some people, especially those who were not familiar with those movies from back in the day, say around the time they where new or close enough to that range, might find them dated etc now.
