The remake of Lost in Space premiers on NETFLIX on April 13. I watched a few episodes and thought it was aimed more for kids. My favourite character was the Robot.

I liked it enough. Didn’t care much for Dr Smith tho. Thought the melodrama she brought to the table was obvious and distracting from more interesting problems of survival.

I think it has a lot of positives and potential, it needs more warmth since the point is obviously that they're a family.
The amazing thing is that it's good at all considering the show runners.

I hope they put more humor into Season 2 and beyond . Season 1 was really an introduction to the new Series and was a good combination of adventure and story , and I don't mind the casting and find it interesting . What I am looking forward to are their new destinations , and the weird and wonderful aliens to come .
It is certainly better than Star trek Discovery with it's overpowering Gay/Lesbian Agenda .

Just finished watching it yesterday. I loved it and I am glad there will be a season 2. I have very little recollection of the original, so I can honestly say that I approached this remake with unbiased eyes.

I have very little recollection of the original, so I can honestly say that I approached this remake with unbiased eyes. I'm watching season 2 right now. I thought season 1 was terrible. But the robot was cool. Season 2 is still ridiculous. But it's better than season 1. It has good special effects and imagination. But it's an endless series of drama, conflict, challenge, deception, conflicting interest, etc. It's exhausting and unrealistic. But it has lots of action and adventure. It's way too talky. But if you like non-stop action, conflict and drama . . .

This series is listed on Google as "SciFi".
It should be listed as "SciFi, Action, Adventure, and Comedy".
Tongue and cheek is the only way to enjoy this. It's kind of ridiculous.
It doesn't seem to know if it wants to be light hearted or melodramatic.

I've just finished Season 2 . Even though the basis of this new 2018 series is the 1960's original , it's pacing is very different . It was interesting to see that the kids in the new series have physically grown since the first season . The pacing for the new is long- form , and they're still establishing the plot-lines by the end of Season 2 . Production is high quality , and it's obvious that substantial investment has gone into the series . At the moment , it seems to lack the family viewing element of the original , but that may come in future seasons . And it stands up to The Expanse as an adventure/action show.

It's way more fast paced than "The Expanse". And way more juvenile and ridiculous. I think it is definitely family entertainment. Parents will have to decide if it's too intense for their kids.

I finally had time to get through season one. I found it pretty engaging. I liked that it went to the "man against nature" roots of the original show, but it seemed a bit too much. It seemed like every other episode there was another catastrophe, usually involving someone being buried...in ice, rockslide, or tar, etc. Which left less time for character stuff. Indeed, the show's creators seem to acknowledge that the triumvirate of Dr. Smith/Will/Robot comprise the key character dynamic on the show. And, as in the original, the other characters are all pretty boring, particularly the parents. Don has that good-hearted mischief-maker dynamic thing going on which is okay but not that interesting. Judy is blandly competent while Penny just seems a bit superfluous in a family of prodigies.
I like how they continued building the mystery of the origin and motives of the Robot. I assume that will pay off into some interesting developments in season 2.

I mostly liked the original tv show.
It's a struggle to like this new version. For one thing, there's just no replacing Jonathan Harris' Dr. Smith. And as much as I like Parker Posey, and as interesting as they've tried to make her character, it all pales in comparison to Harris as the original Dr. Smith. If I had never watched those old reruns, I might not care as much.
I also don't like the way these new robots look. Or their amazing superpowers--in contrast to the really rather limited powers of the original robot.
One thing that is fantastic about this latest show is the quality of the production design, especially the ships (like when they are in the storm on the sea in season 2) and vehicles. Much better than in previous versions.
I never liked Mark Goddard as Don West, or Don West the character, in the original version. Ignacio Serricchio makes for a much more interesting Don West. But he is completely wasted in just having a supporting comic role on this show. He is insanely sexy and really should have leading roles in action films or dramas.

Yeah the series is tons of fun although tethers would prevent about 90% of the drama. Sadly the coming season will be the last.
