Letting slights go just opens you up to more. I learned that the hard way a long time ago. and how is that working for you here? if you've noticed you and dennis are acting exactly the same, and it's not like you're teaching him a lesson or he you, you're simply instigating one another. you think the dceu is stupidly pretentious and dennis thinks that the mcu is glib and safe. and? It's kept people from walking all over me all my life. That's how well it's working for me. But fine, I'll ignore the troll.

What? Try it his way? Just talk about the DCEU and its horrendous take on the characters all the time?

That didn't seem to work, either. I was trying to be nice before, and Dennis still directly inferred all Marvel fans are trained monkeys. It's obvious the man has no intention of being civil regardless of how I act.

You're a pussy, dude.

No, I didn't. I expressed a counterpoint to your statement about how "at least the DCEU handles real life issues" with examples of real life issues handled in the Marvel films. You then proceeded to just blow me off.

yo @dennisreynolds chill out too I'm chill. And I ignore him most of the time. But I'm gonna call him a pussy when he acts like one. And so far, he's spent 90% of his time here crying about how other people here seemingly prefer DC (which I'm not even sure is true). Once he starts acting like a level-headed person who doesn't get overly emotional about dumb shit like this, then I'll treat him like a normal person.

The YouTube critics who loved BVS were hard core DC fans like Grace Randolph (Beyond the Trailer) & Kevin Smith. I'm a long time fan of the Donner Superman and Burton's Batman (as well as a Wonder Woman fan). For comic novels I like lot of DC stuff; The Killing Joke, Watchmen, V for Vendetta. In the comics I found Batman and Superman fighting & the death of Superman interesting. BVS has flaws (Jesse's acting) but on a basic level the film works for me. Just my personal taste. Imo at least, BB ;-)

Honestly I wished it focus more on Superman and Batman, leave Wonder Woman out of it along with Doomsday and the email Cameo scene. Lex could still have the antagonist role with him manipulating Bats and supes. The whole setting up the justice league felt rushed as well as the death of Superman.

"Damn good movie" is a I think a bit too much praise. The extended edition was definitely better than the theatrical cut but it still suffered from a lot of the problems the theatrical cut had. The extended edition made the story flow smoother and made stuff easier to understand but that still didn't address the following:
1. The characters are ridiculously bleak 2. The reason for Superman and Batman fighting is quite shallow 3. The jolly roger, piss in a jar and Martha scene were all still cringe worthy 4. The action, other than the warehouse fight, were still all meh. Which is surprising because I quite enjoyed the action in MOS. 5. The story, though it flowed better now, is still unengaging. 6. The overall feeling of watching the movie was joyless. I don't mind a dark movie but that doesn't mean it has to be bleak and joyless.
added negative 7. The extended cut though better is also more exhausting to sit through.

Watched this last night via CrumbCrust "On-Demand". I liked it. It was the regular theatrical version (no football scene). Not too hot on Ben Affleck's Batman. Come to think about it not to thrilled about Cavill's Supes either. Actually it was his Clark Kent I didn't like much, but those were minor setbacks on what I thought was an excellent film. It wasn't "great" but it is enjoyable and I think can be rewatched a few times. I try not to "Read" too much into movies I like to watch them and enjoy them as entertainment not study and dissect them like science experiments.

This is a damn good movie. People let the media sway their opinion way too much. So a bunch of critics bashed it, and the media just claims "it's a bad movie". Why do the masses of sheep just go along with it? Maybe the "masses of sheep" didn't like it for the same reasons the critics didn't like it? Or are only critics allowed to dislike bad acting and unlikable characters? "So a bunch of critics bashed it" - what does that even mean? They didn't bash it for s**ts and giggles.
