In other words, what do people think of him as a person? Is he a decent man who’s made mistakes, or is he just some hypocrite like his wife claims?

I voted "I like him" before I read your post, and then I changed it to "I don't have much of an opinion." I like his work. I have no opinion on him personally and little interest in that angle.

I don't have much an opinion. He can let his movies down with an overabundance of humour like with Age of Ultron and to a lesser extent Justice League but otherwise the movies he done I've enjoyed anyway.

I'm a big fan of Buffy the vampire Slayer show and I absolutely loved Firefly and Serenity. So I don't hate him or have any major issues with his work, hell The Avengers is one of my all-time favorites in the CBM genre.
But I do feel like he over does it with his signature form of humor in something like Age of Ultron, which was a promising dark film with an antagonist like Ultron.
With Justice League he was hired to basically finish the film and his rewrites definitely stuck out like a sore thumb.
He's a good writer, but not a great director and I do feel like he works even better with his own creations, so he should definitely stick with creating a new IP.
Unfortunately he definitely became an unbearable jackass on social media, which did ruined any respect I had for him over the years.

His work is great. He has cheated numerous times on his wife which makes him a rotten person but has nothing to do with his work.

The fans and the genre used him up. We need fresh minds from the company bin. He served us well and he was rewarded well - time to let and old warrior roam the plains and die with dignity.

I judge an artist based on their work, except when the accusations are A) child abuse, or B) OVERwhelming.
In this case a jilted wife talked smack about the man who wronged her. She should keep personal shit private, and did we think she was going to say anything less? This isn't A or B.
I want to see a DCEU movie from him, but I think he's wasted on Batgirl. He should direct Green Lantern or something bigger like that. |
