I have 84 on there right now, including 8 Funny Face Drink magnets. Many of them are holding paper.

You sent me to the fridge, to count. I have 33. Many of them are on the side, and hidden by a nearby tower of plastic storage drawers. I'll have to bring them forward, and see if I can put them to use.
I'd forgotten about my (apx.) 8", flat likeness of the profile of a Forty Niner helmet ... the last few seasons have been equally forgettable.
I have assorted flowers, brightly colored tiles and some cute ladybugs. There's a small Mickey Mouse, a Cinderella and a Pluto (Disney owned the radio station that I worked for).
Some are utilitarian. One breaks down the equivalents in liquid/dry measures, and another converts into metric. There are two kitchen "clips," that would be very practical if the magnets were stronger. If they count, I have a small "dry board," and the corresponding marker, for making grocery lists - but, I don't think I've ever used it. I probably found it at The Dollar Tree, and thought it would be a good idea.
The New Yorker Magazine sends 4" x 3 1/2" pliable magnets, from time to time. I don't know why. I've given some away, but I have seven, now. If anybody would like one, I'll part with it at a very reasonable price.
Fun thread. I never think about them. Yet, the fridge would look pretty barren, without them.

Nope. I have my own refrigerator separate from the one in the kitchen
And a 3 year old is often in this room where my computers also are
Don't trust she won't put them on my computer
Especially when she loves to sit at my desktop and smack on the keyboard and say "I'm doing my job"

Have to go and count, but I usually buy one everywhere I travel. They're easy mementos. Have wooden ones from Italy, handmade ones from Jordan, a Disney castle, boats from Greece, the Vancouver steam clock (enamel) and handmade clay ones from Cuba - just to name a few. I'll have to check my fridge now.

i have 26 glow in the dark ones -- the alphabet. i couldn't resist. along with various 'me' magnets.
a few that showcase London. the wicked witch of the west as Whistlers Mother. the two dogs from a Christmas Story double dog daring me. a slice of pizza, a salt bagel, a cookie. a glass of wine and a pint of Guinness. and a little Chihuahua sitting underneath a little travel stool with a humongous woman sitting on it and the caption is: live dangerously.
i also have a couple that i made myself: the girl with the pearl earring.

We had the alphabet ones when my kid was little - definitely got him excited about letters and words.

From what year?? It's a mix of the earlier ones - Goofy Grape, Rootin'-Tootin' Raspberry, Freckle Face Strawberry, Lefty Lemon, Loud-Mouth Lime, Jolly Olly Orange, Choo Choo Cherry and also Chinese Cherry. No Injun Orange, though.

I used to have several. Magnets were one of those knick knacks my wife and I would collect when we traveled. If we went to Florida, we'd get a Miami Beach magnet from a tourist shop and decorate our fridge with (why is refrigerator spelled without a "d" but the shortened version, fridge, is?) We had several at one point, everything from university-related, to sports teams, to destinations, to cheap dollar store deals we couldn't pass up.
But I thought magnets on refrigerators was more-or-less out of style these days. It's so-totally 90s. When we upgraded our kitchen, with the stainless steal refrigerator, and later on, hardwood floors, granite countertops, and oak cabinets, it was the final nail on the coffin for magnets for us. My wife doesn't like the ostentatious display, and it doesn't really go with stainless steel, and we wouldn't want to cover it up or risk scratching it.
