"Russian Ark" is absolutely a wonderful film experience...
"Come and See" is not an easy film to watch...but is extremely well made...
"Stalingrad" is one more that comes to mind...
"Alexander Nevsky" is a classic...with a score by classic composer Sergei Prokofiev...

Made by Russians?
Written by a Russian?
Directed by a Russian?
What if the actors were not Russian, but the film was shot in Russia?
Or if the director and writer were Russians, but the film was shot outside Russia with non-Russian actors?

Or if the director and writer were Russians, but the film was shot outside Russia with non-Russian actors? It is not hard to tell a Russian film when you see one. The dialogue is all in Russian. |

Both Stalker and Andrei Rublev are masterpieces, both by Tarkovsky.
Come and See is also incredible.
Recently, Loveless is worth a watch.
