The second one is fucking boss. Can't wait for the third one, which seems to imply the entire world is against him.

I enjoyed the first one. I guess it was refreshing and was great to have Keanu back in action.
The second was garbage. It was basically just a 2 hour montage of people brutally getting shot in the head. Disgusting. I don't understand how people can enjoy watching that.
I love Keanu though, so of course I will watch whatever he does next, but I'd much rather see him do a new Matrix than another one of these.

Love the John Wick films. The action scenes are fantastic and have really revitalized action films in general.

The first one felt like a different flavor of action than we had seen, especially recently.
The second was good but you kind of knew what it tasted like at this point.
I’ll watch the third but I doubt it’s be able to capture the awe of the first film for me.

Love the Wick films (leaning towards loving the 1st one a bit more) but the sequel is good too. Can't wait for the 3rd installment

-John Wick (2014) - 6-6.5/10 (within my Top 235 movies) -John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) - 6/10 (a mild Thumbs up)
I have seen the first movie twice (Jan 22nd 2015/June 24h 2015) and the second movie once (May 24th 2017) so far.
p.s. but I think another Keanu Reeves movie, that's similar enough(i.e. Keanu playing a tough guy who uses guns), is much better... Street Kings (2008) (8/10 ; within my Top 56 movies (March 13th 2016 is my most recent re-watch of this)). basically John Wick is more of a basic, but stylized, action movie where as Street Kings just has more depth etc and the character Keanu plays is more interesting in Street Kings.

I love both movies. I actually like the second one more than the first. It seems more like a complete movie.
I can't wait for Chapter 3.

I like the movie series so far. It's stylized and the action is brutal yet exhilarating, but I found John Wick just another killing machine with no character, emotion, depth, or personality. He kills people so easily that there's no tension half of the time. It's like watching something on the lines of watching a JCVD movie. His "backstory" of his wife dying and giving him a dog beforehand was cliched, shallow and felt tacked on, something flimsy event to give him a "character." If the rebuttal is that his backstory "was never meant to be deep" or that "by deepening it keeps us away from the overall action" then why include it? So little time is spent on it to begin with anyway. Wick defends himself from thieves who try to steal his car, they follow him home, beat him and rob him. He still has a reason to go after them.

A+ A-
Love the action, music, world building, Keanu, stunts... the whole 9. 2nd film obviously didn't share the freshness of the first, nor as strong (or interesting) a lead villain. First would make my top 100 easily.
