If you don`t like a tv show, you don`t actually have to watch it.
Well some people don`t seem to be aware of it.

I think what happens a lot is people start off liking a show and get interested, then it turns sour and they feel they have to keep watching because one, they’ve already seen a few seasons and feel invested, and two, they don’t want to miss out if it has an upswing in quality again.
But yea most of the long runnng tv shows seem to have those people that complain about every single episode. Personally I’ve learned to give up on them and not waste my time if I’m not enjoying it.
I’ve given up on The Walking Dead and Hell on Wherls, that I can recall.

I have notice that some people often complain that a show that last for 10 seasons. That a show is not the same in season 10 as it was in season 1. To me this is a good thing. I don`t really get why some people want a show that last for 7-10 seasons to be the same every season. I do apologize for my awful spelling and grammar.

I think streaming has affected things a a bit.
Shows I would not watch if it took a year, I will endure more frequently.

I’ve given up on The Walking Dead and Hell on Wherls, that I can recall. This is exactly what happened with Lost. The first season was so great that as it went on and got worse, although I was close to giving up on it, I kept holding out the belief that it would get good again (or at least that it would explain the mysteries). Same with a musical artist where you keep buying the albums, no matter how bad, because the earlier ones were so good, and you're holding out that hope that they'll put out another good one.

I also think it's why many netflix shows get higher praise than they probably deserve. Because you don't have to wait a week for the next chapter you can just go now while its fresh and not spend the time over the course of months dissecting every problem you have with the show and if its worth continuing.

I feel like there are some shows out there with aspects I like and aspects I don't like. A good example for me is This is Us. I like most of the cast and some of the storylines. But I also find it kind of dull and overly sappy at times.

What made you say this?

Probably because of people who do nothing but complain about said show. I mean, where they never have anything good to say.

But then those who like to hate watch, wouldn't be able to. I say if one has that much time to hate watch a tv series, they need to find a job. I can start to watch a series, after a few seasons get bored. But then maybe come back to it again, & find it interesting.

Case in point to negate the OP is Fringe. It started dragging in season 2 or 3 but I stuck with it and it got really great again. By the end I was glad I'd watched the whole series.

It's fun to bitch. Bitching gives you a ridiculous sense that you could have done better.

I think it is only fair to watch at least 5 minutes of something new before you change the channel. That is the only real way to make an assessment. It would not be fair to hate a show without seeing at least a few minutes of it.
If I hated Good Times (which I do) and never saw it so therefore could not back up my dislike, then I could be called racist. Same thing with George Lopez and anything from Tyler Perry, both I disliked.

If you don't like that they don't like a show... you don't have to read it.

If you don't like that they don't like a show... you don't have to read it. You do know that you can`t know what a person write before you read it. So that argument don`t work. But you can know if you like a show after you watch it. And if you don`t like it don`t watch it

But you can know if you like a show after you watch it. And if you don`t like it don`t watch it Because every discussion about a show involves nothing but praise and you're therefore surprised by negative comments? They make you jump? You're ever so slightly confused by them? And no, you don't necessarily know if you like a piece of art once you've initially digested it. You're opinion may change over time, especially after contact with others whose opinions have opened your eyes to things you hadn't considered. Perhaps if opinions upset you so much, you ought to consider turning your internet off. You know you can do that, right?
