Maybe it's knowing she can't sing anymore with Parkinson's.

For some bizarre reason, a lot of people feel they need to follow suit with an artist's opinion of their own work, especially when the opinion is negative. I run into this frequently as someone with unusual tastes. Folks will say, "You love that album!?!? The artist doesn't even like it!" As if that should have some bearing on my own opinion. So maybe people who tend to feel that way are feeling like it's undermining their love of her work.

If I had to guess, this sentiment might be more common with people who have objectivist leanings, and the thought is that no one is in a better position to judge a work than its creator. So if the creator doesn't think it's good, it must not be any good, and I shouldn't like it either.
Of course I don't at all agree with that, but that might be how the thinking goes.

That may be true still i find it stupid to stop enjoing something just because the people or person behind it don`t think its any good.

John Lennon hated having written It's Only Love, but it's among my top Beatles songs. I find it funny that Ian Anderson thinks Aqualung wasn't that good and that The Broadsword and the Beast and later stuff was better.

It could just be forced modesty.

Broadsword is kinda underrated, but the real gem of their later work is Roots to Branches.
