That serves them right for getting rid of Bobbi but in all seriousness, has the show gone really downhill in the last season and is broken beyond repair or are the fans just not watching it anymore? And what happened with Ward? Did he stay good this time or go back to being a villain or was his good act just to fool everybody? I am behind with it now thanks to Channel 7 but I enjoyed the seasons I saw and plan on catching up with it when I get the last two seasons on DVD.
Ward was yet again a "double-agent," but it was a Ward in an artificial environment, and his double-agenting was working for Hydra while secretly working for the resistance; so in effect, he was a good guy in the Framework.
A nice touch on this Grant's background, was that his mentor was Vicoria Hand, instead of Garrett; suggesting this was a pivotal development for him and the man he'd become.
I can't say it's gone down in quality, in my opinion; especially in comparison to where it started. I never thought I'd see the day I'd praise anything from AoS and bitch about stuff for CW-DC shows, but I am far less reluctant to watch Agents of SHIELD than the average Arrowverse series. I mean, tonight's SHIELD episode plot was kinda thin, some significant setups, but not much else; and it was still a million times better than last night's Arrow, in my opinion.
The arc of the first half of the season was fair. It could have been shorter, but alright. My biggest disappointment with SHIELD is tone and scope. From the start it's suffered a bit, I think, from being a show about spies, owned by Disney. Also, it's too myopic/claustrophobic; SHIELD is supposed to be this powerful, enormous organization, and there's never really been a strong sense of that even before SHIELD "fell". It's the same close knit group of people, taking on challenges that have varying degrees of importance to the world, yet never seems to have the necessary weight. SHIELD was a little before its time, being the first MCU series, before developing shows on Netflix. And I think if SHIELD is to have a good future, I think it needs to move to Netflix; shorter, tighter seasons; maybe a stronger focus. Ideally, if albeit improbable, reaffirm the ties to the movies.

Bobbi and Hunter were taken off the show because they were supposed to star in another Marvel show called Marvel's Most Wanted, but ABC didn't pick it up. But yeah, when that didn't pan out they shoulld have brought the two back.

Thanks for letting me know about Stargazer1682. The last time I watched ‘Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD was the first few episodes of the season where the Ghost Rider joined but then Channel 7 decided to move it to their 7Flicks channel which we can’t record on Foxtel and it was up against all these other shows we were watching and then they took it off and didn’t bring it back for a long time and we fell behind with the show and were planning on getting it on DVD but when I tried to order it on Amazon it wouldn’t ship to Australia ‘cause it was part of some deal that was available for people in America only and I found it on another American site but on Blu Ray which doesn’t work here. Season 4 is still yet to be released here in Australia on DVD here for some unknown and they have the first 3 seasons on DVD and Blu Ray but no Season 4 but I just noticed we can now get Season 4 on DVD on Amazon so I will be ordering that the next time I make an order on the site.

Yes. I heard about 'Marvel's Most Wanted' and I was really disappointed the network didn't give it a chance and they could have at least aired the pilot episode to see how it went 'cause some of the most popular TV shows of all time like 'Seinfeld' were shows the networks thought were going to fail and 'Marvel's Most Wanted' could have been just as successful in the ratings as 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' for all they knew. I don't get why they didn't send Bobbi and Hunter back to 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' after their show was knocked back 'cause they were popular and I saw a lot of fans saying they wanted them back online but perhaps they didn't know what to do with them and thought they would take away from the other characters. It is a shame they didn't have Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman) on 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' 'cause she would have fitted the show perfectly in my opinion and they could have had her debut as a member of Hydra who turned on them and joined SHIELD when she worked out they were villains and then went on to become Spider Woman and join the MCU movies.

What's annoying is how they wrote them off in such a way as to make it impossible to bring them back as regulars without making their leaving story redundant, but saying that they have had various ways they could have brought them back like in the framework, or hell why not have Hunter atleast go with Fritz into the future seeing as how they were coming back anyway?
Also why in the fuck did they write them off like that? if their spin off was already ordered to series then that's one thing but they wrote them off for a pilot, their characters you though may sustain their own show so why fuck yourself over like that if the spin off didn't work out?

I agree. It was a mistake to write them off like that especially before they even had the spinoff show confirmed and they should have waited until after 'Marvel's Most Wanted' was officially given the greenlight to write them out of the show 'cause that way they could have kept them in the show when ABC knocked it back but I think the creators were so confident the show would get picked up they rushed ahead and wrote the two characters out to set up the spinoff. It is sad they got rid of them especially Bobbi 'cause she was my favourite character on the show and they could have moved her to the MCU movies as Mockingbird but all the plans the showrunners were talking about with having characters like Quake moved up to the MCU never happened and I heard Ike Perlmutter is to blame for that.

Why they were so confident I do not get, I love AOS and all but ratings wise it or Agent Carter never managed to carry the popularity of either the films or the Netflix shows over, so why assume a 3rd Mavel show on ABC would work? Marvel should have had a ace in their back pocket by also offering it to Netflix, it may not have held as popular as the other shows but still globally the Marvel brand carries enough for it to surely be worth Netlfix's time, plus it would have likely been cheaper and easier to produce than the other shows they brought from Marvel.
yeah hopefully it renews again. The slow start to the first season is what really hurt the show and hence the ratings kept on declining as it was average right out of the gate. As for the seasons going forward, it really kept getting better and better. It is one of my favourite comic book tv shows out there at the moment. Tying with Legion and Gotham. Punisher and Daredevil are just below. In saying that, the current season is ok, preferred the previous a lot more.

I would love to see them get a sixth season, but it might be best to end while on top. I've seen too many shows come back for one more lackluster season that ruins the entire experience.

I think it might have had something to do with the success of their movies and they thought 'cause the movies were successful all of their shows would be too. 'Agent Carter' was a surprise to a lot of fans and many people didn't think they would cancel it 'cause it was a Marvel show. I remember reading something about 'Agent Carter' going to Netflix and it was believed Netflix would take it up but they sadly passed on it. I have an article about it you can read below but I don't think they ever tried to get 'Marvel's Most Wanted' picked up by Netflix and after ABC decided to pass on it that was the end of it which was unfair to the fans of Bobbi and Hunter and the actors who would have been under the impression they were getting upgraded to their own show when they filmed the episode where they got wrote off but instead they got nothing. I am enjoying 'Marvel's The Runaways' the more I watch it and am glad it got renewed for another season.
Agent Carter: Netflix explains why they didn't save it
Netflix is finally explaining why they didn’t pick up Agent Carter.
When ABC axed the series after two seasons in May, fans held their breath hoping the streaming company would swoop in and add Carter to its mounting collection of Marvel titles, such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Instead, Carter became Marvel’s first canceled title in this modern era.
We asked Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos what about the series did not work for his company.
“We’re looking for truly original brands to own,” he says, “and in that Marvel space we already have [original comic book shows] — so that was mostly why.”
Netflix also tries to own and distribute its titles worldwide, releasing seasons globally and simultaneously, and the structure of Marvel’s existing international deals for Agent Carter made that tricky. “They also have some output deal complexities,” he adds. “So when you pick it up, being able to pick it up globally is difficult even after it’s canceled. Some of those output partners still had it on the air, so they would argue its covered by their output [deals]. Unfortunately, it was a business decision more than a creative one.”
Thing is though by that point your 3 seasons deep in AOS which was never a hit show, Agent Carter is even less impressive than that so why go in all cocky about a 3rd show in the same vein as the others, it's like if Berlanti and his crew came up with and got a Batman Beyond live action show, who in their right mind is going to assume it's a lock to win an Emmy? But that seems like a Perlmutter fuck up like many of the other early MCU issues, glad the movies are free of him now atleast.

Yeah. It most likely did have something to do with Ike Perlmutter. From what I have heard he made a lot of bad decisions and a lot of people are happy to be free of him. It was Ike who was the main one preventing the MCU from having female superhero movies and female villains and he had a reputation for being a racist and said things like he couldn't tell black people apart 'cause they all looked the same so it is probably not surprising they made 'Black Panther' straight after they got rid of him. If the show gets renewed I hope they bring back Bobbi (that is if Adrianne can fit it in with her other show) and if not they should try to bring her into the movies as Mockingbird.
Not a fan, I see. What are your thoughts on 'The Runaways' Lord Death Man? I wasn't too fond of the show at first but now it is one of my favourites and Karolina Dean is a great character.

It took a while but, Runaways really grew on me. Stylistically the show is very good. Love the LA settings and the energy the kids bring to the show. Dean is a big part of the reason I like the show now. I’m looking forward to more seasons for sure.
