It doesn't seem final yet but looks like it's going to be: www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2018/03/01/wonder-woman-2-why-kristen-wiig-is-a-purrfect-choice-for-cheetah/#7818e9966842And all I can think about is: Why her? I mean, I don't hate Wiig or anything but nothing about her makes sense for being cast as Cheetah. She's not exactly known for playing villains, or playing any character that even resembles the personality traits of Cheetah. She's not such a great actress that I'm convinced she can easily play any role. She doesn't have the physical look nor the athleticism for the lithe Cheetah and the obviously fight-choreography heavy role. So... why her?

Eh, people reacted the same way towards Keaton as Batman...and he was awesome.

Hell if I know. I don't dislike her at all. But even for a Marvel movie, it'd seem off if she was the heavy. This decision making feels sooo dated, like it's one of the stunt casting decisions from the Schumacher era.

The only positive I can come up with is that unlike Hack Snyder, Patty Jenkins is a good director and maybe she can see something that nobody else can?

To be fair, I AM trying to look for the best in this.... that maybe there is something with Wiig that we're not seeing. For example with Gadot, despite multiple people complaining about her casting, at least I can agree that she has the height, athleticism, charisma and the exotic look for her part.
But try as I might with Wiig, there's nothing for me to relate her to Cheetah.

My guess is that Barb is going to be portrayed as smart but quirky, anti-social, and sensitive( Which Wiig can certainly play believably as) but after her transformation she becomes an out of control animal that is the total opposite of her human self. The thing is Wiig has shown she can do more than comedy, but the problem is she's associated with the latter so much it might be a hard pill to swallow to see her play a comic book villain who is not intended to be laugh at or with, so if she cast trailers and other marketing are gonna have to really convince people she is a force to be reckon with.

I'm sure shell be fine. People lost their shit when Ben Affleck was cast as Batman and he was fine.
Infact people were also angry about Gal Gadot being Wonder Woman.

I never had a problem with GG being cast as Wonder Woman, she fit the part. Kristen Wiig on the other hand, I'm skeptical with this one.

Could have been worse. Sandra Bullock was considered as WW.
There are tall women who are more alpha than Gadot though. She wasn't the best possible candidate for the role (who is supposed to as alpha as possible). They just didnt bother to do a search to find someone who had the gravitas of a Lynda Carter because these days, media companies are beta to the max. Actors lie about their height-not convinced Ben Affleck is as tall as is claimed--because Christopher Reeve was also around 6'4 and yet seemed more imposing.

No way is Lynda Carter more "alpha" than Gadot. They showed Gadot's WW as being more naive and coming into womanhood, that's probably why you think she was alpha enough. But if you watch her other movies you'll see that Gadot is way more imposing than Carter and a lot more physical presence.

Gadot on one side talking, Carter 1977 on the other and see which the majority of the audience finds more charismatic.

I'll show you one of Gadot.
