When watching last years Tarzan film it made me think of watching the old TV series as well as seeing bits of the Johnny Weismuller films, I actually got all the Weismuller films due to this shoddy remake. And yes, the films are old and at times hilarious for the wrong reasons but very entertaining all the same, far more than Tarzan goes Rambo which is what I felt like I was watching.
The remake of 3:10 to Yuma also made me watch the original which I thought was way better, especially the ending.
Anyone else?

When a movie is remade I almost always watch the original before watching the remake, if I havent yet seen it. There have only been probably a couple of movies where I saw the remake before the original or still havent seen the original. Off the top of my head... I havent seen the originals for Mirrors (Into the Mirror), The Fly, The Thing (only seen the 1982 movie). I am sure there are others but cant think of them right now. I have a bunch of remakes I still need to watch as well though like Let Me In (I have seen Let The Right One In but not the remake), havent seen the remake to Fright Night yet, never saw the Psycho remake.

The Thomas Crown Affair The end of the affair Lolita
With the end of the Affair and The Thomas Crown Affair i prefer the remake. I liked more the way they were shot and the rhythm, i also prefer the casting.
With Lolita they are even, there are some stuff i prefer the Original and in other ways i prefer the reamke but both are wonderful films with a superb casting im just a little shocked that It was Kubrick the one who showed the most interest to do it, I thought this would be something Hitchcock would have loveeed to do. Especially after what he did with Marnie.

You haven't missed shit. Let Me In is a water downed American version, and the author of the book hated the ending. Fright Night w Colin Farrell sucks ass. Psycho by Gus Van Sant is a play-by-play, shot-by-shot rip off.

Les Miserables (2012). Had seen the musical as a play years earlier. This movie got me interested in the story again. I sought out three other versions of the movie afterward and read the book as well!

I watched the remake of The Out Of Towners first, then later saw the original with Jack Lemmon. The original was far superior.

I watched the original Texas Chain Saw after seeing the trailer for the remake.

The Lady Vanishes (2013) made me seek out the original from 1938

Beauty & the Beast & The Jungle Book . I definitely prefer the older / original takes on these two classic tales . The newer live action versions don't have as much heart and seem too formulaic for me. I'm sure I'll say the same thing about the live action Lion King, Dumbo , Mulan reboots too ! lol

True Grit (2010). I am a big John Wayne fan but kept putting it off until I heard they were doing one. I actually wound up disliking the original.

"Let Me In." I didn't like "Let the Right One In" after seeking it out.
