If you told me 1 year ago that I'd answer Blade Runner 2049 to this question I wouldn't believe you. But here we are and BL2049 is one of my favorite sequels and favorite movies ever made. I'm convinced that in 20 years people will look back at BL2049 as one of the best sci-fi movies ever made, just like The Empire Strikes Back nowadays. The original is also fantastic, but I prefer the sequel. Which one do you prefer? The original or the sequel?

I saw it last night and while it's fresh in my mind, I have to say 2049 too. With the first one, it's one of those movies that I kind of respect more for its visuals and its ambition than actually like. Also, aside from Roy, I wasn't interested in most of the characters. Here with 2049, I almost liked all the characters;

Blade Runner 2049. Both are amazing, though.

BR2049 but they’re both on my top 20 of all time.

Here with 2049, I almost liked all the characters; LOL, to me is exactly the way around. Blade Runner 1986 is my favorite. I like almost all the characters, Deckard, Roy, Rachael, Gaff, Pris, Sebastian, even Leon and Zhora. It´s just a feeling, but I find the original more soulful, not to mention Vangelis score. I like 2049 for its visuals and atmosphere, but aside from K, I didn´t care much about the other characters. Maybe Coco, despite very short screen time and Robin Wright is always solid. Didn´t like Ana de Armas-Joi, I find her acting weak, Luv has the look and is very tough, but too one-note. Thumbs down to Jared Leto here. Like it, but not love it.

Original. Sequel is great, but no one is on Rutger Hauer's level.

I know I am going to get a lot of hate for saying this but I thought that Sylvia Hoeks was a Much Better Villain in "BLADE RUNNER 2049" than Rutger Hauer was in "BLADE RUNNER".

Blade Runner (Final Cut) my #37 all time.
BR2049 wouldn't make my top 300.
