Conspiracy theorists and anti-choicers are scum of the scum, on about the same level as child molesters. It should be legal to kill them, cut them into pieces, fry them, and feed them to carnivores. Not necessarily in that order. The OP said unpopular opinions.

Dances With Wolves OVER Goodfellas. Lots of people will say that GF should have gotten Best Picture Oscar instead of DWW. Not I. I liked GF a lot, but I LOVED DWW. DWW was spoilt for me because the female lead playing the Indian girl had 'modern hair'(all layered and permed)! It was SO distracting that I can't remember much else about that movie. I HATE that~ Goz, this is for you. I never dreamed an article like this even existed (about a 2 minute read): thepioneerwoman.com/confessions/shrunken_heads_/

Milli Vanilli wasn't that bad. Whoever it was who really sang the vocals for their songs was pretty good.

Probably didn't have the look that the record company was going for to promote them on MTV. Absolutely. The look they wanted was Hans and Franz with dreadlocks jumping around in skintight bicycle pants. It was a tragedy. There was a pretty good documentary about it on MTV, or maybe it was VH-1.

Jonbenet's family cost the country millions of dollars because they couldn't stand up and say: yes, our daughter is dead. she had an accident and our son accidentally hit her in the skull with this flashlight.
but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! can't have anybody think any bad thing about this family! [ps, i saw her guilt/involvement from the get go].
for anyone against abortion: go to the south Bronx and just sit in a park for not even 10 minutes. there you will see an array of child abuse, endangerment, neglect and downright illegal behavior with children present. really? life is better?
cps/acs spends too much time trying to teach simple parenting things to people who just. don't. give. a. shit. not about their kids, not about their safety, not about them as souls they brought into this world. all they care about is [illegally gained] government money. stop feeding the bears! when aspca is called to a site and the animals are found to be in need of care, they are removed THE SAME DAY. there is no coming back in a month to see how things are going. why are children [future tax payers] second class citizens and are placed behind animals? animals can hopefully find a way to run away, bite/attack their owner. babies and children have no such allegiance. why are we not standing up more for children?

Blazing Saddles and Caddyshack both suck balls... I agree with you about Blazing Saddles. As for Caddyshack...well you can go straight to hell!

Pretty simple. Post some unpopular opinions about any topic that you hold. Mine: ‘The Quick and the Dead’ is the best western ever made. I wouldn't say it's the best ever, but it's definitely one of my top 5. Michael Jackson's version of "Come Together" is better than the Beetles version.

I'm a fan in general of Raimi and his OTT take on various genres (few directors have done more with less than he did with the Evil Dead series); but TQATD just seemed like a banal imitation of Sergio Leone to me. While Raimi can do style, he's not a stylist par excellence like Leone, and without Morricone's music it's just lacking something extra to elevate it above just being a fun genre exercise. It's a film I like, but can't say I love. Of course, I'm a bit odd in thinking Leone's best film, by far, was Once Upon a Time in America, and I'd even take West over any of his Man With No Name films... I've never actually seen Once Upon a Time in America, but I also love Once Upon a Time in the West, though not as much as Good/Bad/Ugly. Yea, Morricone's score is incredible...almost completely intrinsic to the movies. I couldn't imagine Leone's films without those scores. Yojimbo is a movie I still haven't seen, and I keep meaning to check it out. Would you say it's better than Seven Samurai? I wouldn't say Ford's films are unpopular...definitely not critically speaking. I mean, The Searchers is still commonly held as the best western. Once Upon a Time in America is a very unusual film. If you watch it, don't go into it expecting typical Leone or a typical gangster film. What I love about that film is its tone/atmosphere; it feels like you're living a memory with how tactile and detailed it is (you can practically smell the dust as it floats through the air in the evening light). It's also incredibly ambiguous because its narrator is an unreliable, high-as-a-kite DeNiro in an opium den (it's all in flashbacks). It's extremely long--3 3/4 hours--and it uses much of that time to allow events to unfold in real time as opposed to cramming in more events. Like, I love the scene of the kid that buys a dessert in order to get with a young hooker, but he's so impatient waiting on the stairs that he ends up eating the dessert. The scene takes like a minute or two of just the kid sitting there an slowly eating the thing, but it's strangely sweet and funny and feels like real life. OK, that's enough of me gushing about one of my favorite films. Seven Samurai is my all-time favorite live-action film (favorite film if you don't count End of Evangelion), so I wouldn't say anything is better than it. Yojimbo is a more streamlined action film. It doesn't have the complex characters, social commentary, and emotional depth of TSS; it's more just Kurosawa's dynamic cinematic style in a more traditional samurai "genre film." Its sequel, Sanjuro, is also terribly underrated. Both are excellent. If TSS is a 10/10, I'd put Yojimbo at a 9/10 and Sanjuro at an 8.5/10. Ford's films aren't unpopular critically, but once upon a time he was probably considered the greatest filmmaker in the world and the one in which all others looked up. I don't know if any director was more admired among his peers. These days, I see more and more young cinephiles loving Leone (and Peckinpah) and finding Ford old-fashioned/boring. Many of his films are still considered masterpieces, but I fear for his legacy as the older generation of critics, filmmakers, and cinephiles pass away.

Some music opinions that may ruffle a few feathers: Kinda agree (I put them about even) Everything > WL/WH. That album's the equivalent of calling poop on a canvas art. Agree (Pixies, Alice in Chains, PJ Harvey > Both) Presence has probably my favorite Zep song in Achilles Last Stand, but I do think IV is overall the stronger album; its singles are just overplayed to death. Agree, though Queen is Dead is the shit. Kinda agree. I have to be in the right mood for them, otherwise they just become musical wallpaper. Still, I get why people love them because of how atmospheric they are. Their stuff also makes great fodder for music videos:

"Queen is Dead" is probably their most consistent album, though even then I skip quite a few tracks. I'm guessing you like "London Calling and New Order?"

I love Unknown Pleasures, that was the first JD album I listened to. I like Closer a bit more though. Their music can be kind of a downer, though they do have some upbeat, rockin tracks (Transmission, Shadowplay, Dead Souls)
