Some of the dates of death need to be checked before major protesting and remember the ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES is for MOVIE people and not actors known primarily for TV (like Adam West and Ty Hardin and even Rose Marie.)
That said : Agree : No reason to have omitted Oscar winner Dorothy Malone. Agree : Bill Paxton was mentioned last year as was MTM !
They should have omitted the "feed the people in the other theater" nonsense.

ck100Many of the fine people on your list were known primarily as Television Actors and would be Memorialized on the Emmy program where they will "snub" Movie actors and the Tony Award Program will honor stage people and "snub" movie and tv ! The CBS Sunday Program does a really nice Memorial program the first Sunday in Jan (or the last in Dec ?) where people in every field get a mention.

I just thought of the two MOST logical reasons a person IS SNUBBED by the Academy (BUT I need one of you to figure-out IF either of these two IS the POSSIBLE and PROBABLE reason):
1. Those SNUBBED are conservatives. MOST of Hollywood IS liberal. OR...
2. The actor/director/producer/writer/cinematographer (and ONLY those five categories SHOULD BE included in "In Memoriam" ANYWAY) simply NEVER won an Oscar, or were NEVER EVEN nominated for an Oscar. Perhaps you DON'T need a win, BUT you NEED two or more nominations??
These are the two MOST reasons that make the MOST sense to me. Of course, I have NO IDEA IF these are or are NOT the reasons. So, again one of you try to FIGURE-THIS-OUT...

Seems as though the desire to diversify is a culprit here. What movies did Chuck Berry star in?
Haruo Nakajima, yes, he was most deserving even though he never did a US film.
But Hiep Thi Le?
If they can have her, then they should have had Malone.
Peggy Cummins was also excluded.

"Snubbed" is something deliberate ... like shaking the hand of 3 out of 4 people and pointedly not shaking that 4th offered hand.
What has happened with the "In Memorium" segment is omissions rather than snubs.
Perhaps due to in-efficiency, perhaps time restraints for the piece, perhaps for reasons not possible to imagine.
BUT to call them deliberate snubs is in-accurate. WHY would they deliberately leave out respected members of their profession ?

I really think that whoever it is that makes the "IN MEMORIAM" Tributes at the Academy Awards really needs to be FIRED!
Every Single Year, They Keep Missing People and It is so Absolutely Insulting and Disrespectful to them and their families.

Missing from the list is Glen Campbell who appeared in the Academy Award winning film "True Grit"

Every Single Year, They Keep Missing People and It is so Absolutely Insulting and Disrespectful to them and their families. They also as I mentioned above SHOULD'NT WASTE TIME on someone who ISN'T an actor or actress, director, producer, writer or a cinematographer. NOBODY (except for families, relatives and friends) CARES about makeup artists, talent agents, etc...certainly NOT the general public.
