...the abundance of Cole Porter songs used to bring out the presenters? Not my imagination. By my count, 29 presenters, 14 Porter songs. That's essentially half the presenters. Can't be a coincidence. I wonder what was behind it?

...didn't notice Cole Porter, but I did notice a lot of older tunes which may have been Porter's.
And I thought it shameful that there were several omissions in the remembrance segment. Most notably Glen Campbell who appeared in the Oscar winning film True Grit and John Mahoney. Mahoney, like Dennis Farina before him were both ignored and I find it interesting that both were Chicagoans. Their deaths were ignored as if they were Hollywood outsiders.
I also found it bizarre that while there was so much in the production regarding the female harassment issue, the Academy still chose to give convicted rapist Kobe Bryant an Oscar.
