I read it through punk when it was unmissable and continued up to early this century when it went right down the toilet. Also got Sounds. Record Mirror was for the kids and MM was for muso types.

The last time I bought it was in 1990 or thereabouts (I have a feeling that a particularly fawning Public Enemy interview by Steven Wells was the final straw), but I hadn't been all that interested for several years previously. It was essential reading from around 1977 to 1982 though.
