I'm not one to be like "leave that franchise alone". I think the SW Universe, Terminator series, Alien franchise among others have many more potentially great stories to tell. But Jaws? It's a perfect film with no future stories to be told. And the sequels are garbage. Leave that franchise be.

I don't see any problem with turning 'Jaws' into a mini-series, though five episodes would probably be the most they could stretch it out. The premise of a group of friends being picked off one by one might work in a slasher movie, but it would be too implausible in the context of a shark movie. By the time the 2nd or 3rd friend has been gobbled down by a shark, the rest are going to take the sheriff's advice and "get out of the water!"

Absolutely not. The movie is perfect as is. Stretching out the story with a lot of useless fluff and padding will not improve anything. Much like the book. Haha. That thing is stuffed with mafia subplots and love affairs that Spielberg chucked straight out the window.

It can but I would rather it didn’t call itself Jaws. You could have a miniseries revolving around shark attacks in an island town though. That’d be interesting for at least a season.
